Maybe. I’d have to be convinced byu will be a real player next year first.
I meant that byu will have to be a top caliber team for him to win npoy. They currently have what could be a top 5 pick and are barely sniffing the tournament. They’ll need team success.
The steals have been the surprise development to me. He has 20 in the last 5 games which is a ridiculously high number.
Smith is 34 assists away from tying Bruce for the all time assist record.
He now has 211 assists on the year, which would be second all time in a season already. First place is himself last year at 292. He will eclipse that this year and get into the 300 territory if he keeps his average up.
He is also 6th all time in steals (168 currently) and should move to third by end of the year.
