Slow start dooms Boilermakers (link)

Unacceptable for this once proud program. Getting crushed by flippin' Maine. Versyp is the next Burke hire to go. Women's basketball should be a strategic focus at Purdue.
This was truly awful. Totally unprepared at the start of the game, it was over before the Boilers woke up and played a decent but young team kind of even. But altho we showed some defensive acumen at times in the second half, the offense never got untracked and most shots seemed kind of desperate. There was no flow to the offense at all. None of the point guards played well so Versyp had to turn to Keys to just get any semblance of stability and Keys is not a pg. One of the worst first efforts in years. Unless something changes fast, this team is going no where as it seems quite lost. One bad game does not make a season, but it would have been nice if there had been some semblance of an offense which there never was throughout the game. Our two bigs seemed completely lost and Oden and Harrisl two frosh. seemed to be the best players on the floor. Purdue did look pretty good in the exhibit against a weak team, but they did not show up at all tonight.
Horrocks is injured and playing injured. Completely severed ligament and coming off dislocated kneecap. She is scheduled for surgery and yet was played and she did play. No one scored on her in paint. Maine was a team of guards on the floor... and we have no guards. So sick of the criticism on the posts.
Why would you play a player hurt that badly. That makes no sense. You say you are sick of criticisms but then say we have no guards. That is a contradiction. This is a board where fans express their opinions. Many times I have praised what this team has done and Coach V. What gets said is warranted and just a fan's opinion. If that bothers you, stay off the board.
clarification "criticism on the posts as in players" That game was riddled with poor play from veteran "stars" who choked with high turnovers, poor shooting, lame baseline dribble drives...people getting accolades for points when they give up a baskets on the other end.
