IU's recruit Thomas Bryant is 6'10'' 220 and considered big. Jacquil Taylor is 6'9'' 220 and JJ was 6'10'' 220 and always considered thin and as needing to put on some weight. I always find this interesting. A player gets labeled and it sticks forever.

Two Tone Tan Man will have Bryant up to 260 by the first exhibition game, and he'll be on the cover of Rolling Stoned within a month of that. One of the reports I read said that his biggest issue is that he can't establish position because of his lack of weight. Haas should bounce him in to the third row in Mackey.

I think Bryant will be effective when IU can run. I doubt he will see the ball much in half-court action, so his lack of size will not affect IU's game. They don't go inside anyway, unless it is against the littel sisters of the poor type schools.

By the way, I like the black Vette avitar. If it is yours, very nice. The new Vettes are the best of the breed, by a large margin. I know there are those who will want to talk up the split window or what-ever, but those were rather pedestian cars with big engines. The new Vettes are truly exotic in their engineering and performance.

Big is relative. Consider their other "big" men. Isn't Hartman considered one of their "bigs" now? As much talent as Tommy has recruited, he sure hasn't done well getting bigs to come, stay and develop. Granted Zeller and Vonleh left very early, but he would do well to add some talented bigs that will stick around and give him meaningful minutes.

Thanks Math....and yes, I'm very blessed that it's mine. I bought the '13 because I don't like the rear fascia of the new C7. If you really want the best of the old and the new, check out this website where they marry the old and the new. Classic styling with modern dependability.

Not only does the label stick but it is completely USELESS. Athleticism and coordination are much more important and weight doesn't tell you either of those. I thought JT was impressive for a freshman big in the little playing time he got. I would rather him get better at actually *playing basketball* then all this needless focus on gaining weight. Sometime I feel like players spend all summer hitting weight/strength goals when they should have been shooting/dribbling/footworking all summer. If you gained 20lbs and still suck at basketball then what's the point?

If he was recruited by the Clapper he's a monster. He will lead them to the promised land. For evidence see Hannah the Masked Pariah!!!
