All signs pointing to Kira Reynolds joining her sisters in West Lafayette. Those 3 very well could take us to the next level.
Improving roster depth. Winning more games. Challenging for big ten championships - albeit going to be extremely difficult with the current programs and the 4 coming in. Going deeper in the tournament. That’s the next step for the program and it starts with getting talented kids at all positions on the roster. Not trying to start a flame war, but what would you consider "the next level" for this program?
This Reynolds family seems legit. Impressive. What are the ramifications are of having 3 sets of sisters in a program however. Are we truly getting the best of the best? Reynolds Sr. didn’t even play at MD. Harper Jr. didn’t have any other B1G offers. Layden Jr only had one other offer from a mid major. It’s unique but is it best for the future of the program or are we riding this out just for short term attention? Other coaches have to look and say how hard is it to grab a sibling. Afraid it makes our recruiting efforts look lazy. CKG just keeps saying “they just love Purdue.” Well, I do too but can they PLAY? Hope so!All signs pointing to Kira Reynolds joining her sisters in West Lafayette. Those 3 very well could take us to the next level.

Good thoughts. I actually think you can get many All Americans in a program. That’s why we have the UConn’s, Tennesses’s. I also get that some have to be role players. I agree on those 7. Big Smith fan but she doesn’t get the time she deserves. She’s a Miss Basketball for crying out loud. Sensitive topic to discuss appearances I agree, but as you stated Layden Jr needs to be stronger and quicker. She has a nice shot for sure but saying she’s quicker than her sister isn’t really saying much. I do think being physically unhealthy, as M. Reynolds, Harper Jr & Sr, and Layden Sr appear to be, and even JT, doesn’t put us in the best position to compete. Not sure what the team nutritionist is doing but there’s a point where you’re strong and solid, and then there’s a point where you’re out of shape and continue to gain weight. That doesn’t help us build a program of discipline and doing whatever it takes to win.An entire roster can’t be made up of all Americans. You need potential stars/starters - and then good depth players who are ok with coming off the bench. There are only so many minutes to go around. Harper Jr is a depth piece with potential to grow into a solid post contribute but will not be expected to be an all big ten player - but at 6’3 and with her physical body type she could potentially help us at least defensively. Layden Jr committed very early in her high school career. It was a foregone conclusion she would be a boilermaker after her offer from KG - why would anyone else try? I’m not sure how good she will be for us right away. But she is a skilled 6’2 shooter who is more athletic/quicker than her older sister. The big thing for me was how she’d do physically as she was slender in high school. But from the looks of recent pics she has rounded into shape physically in the short time she has been here which bodes well for her future with the program. If she develops into a more athletic version of her older sister - she will be a valuable piece for us. Very few freshmen coming in were going to make a dent in playing time at Maryland last year - especially post players so I’m not reading too much into mila’s minutes. But the future core is set for us. The 3 Reynolds sisters, Spider, MA, Poole, Smith - those 7 - will determine how this program goes over the next hopefully 4-6 years.

They showed last year that they can compete and beat some of the best athletes from the big ten and other conferences. You have no idea what their health is so saying you’re saying based off pics? This is extremely obtuse.

I think much was said last season about this topic. I agree with those sentiments. Pictures can be one thing but an inability to move up and down the court and withstand the grind, is another. Performances are hampered by physical fitness or lack thereof. That’s true of any elite player in any elite sport, especially the B1G. That doesn’t make my position obtuse, it makes it informed. Several players lack being in elite shape as I stated. That doesn’t change because you want to ignore the impact that has on our ability to win games late into the season and become elite.Huh? I can certainly agree with some of this. I think the talent we have coming in is good enough with proper coaching and development to move up 1-3 spots in the BT standings (5-7 range), but it is FAR from competing for BT titles level of talent IMHO. For nearly every 4 star recruit we are pulling in the 60-100 range of rankings, IU and OSU are pulling a 5 star recruit in the 5-40 range. We are not really closing the talent gap with the top 3-4 programs in the conference yet, but if we keep showing progress and the coaches get more established (and hopefully become elite level recruiters) We might start closing the gap in a few years. To move higher than 5th or 6th KG will have to significantly outcoach Moren, McGuff, Frese, Arico, and/or Green; all of whom have many more years of D1 experience to draw on and equal to better talent on their rosters and incoming at this time. I do not hold Bluder in high esteem, and expect once Clark leaves for Iowa to settle into the middle of the pack for a while.Improving roster depth. Winning more games. Man, chill. Didn’t realize all discussions and responses needed to be of your same mindset. People can and do have different opinions. Not sure you’re able to think objectively about anything. But this basketball team needs cheerleaders who blindly will follow them. Appears that’s you. Good for you.The only thing that was said was about Layden’s physical abilities. Nothing was said about anyone else and unless you’re a physical trainer working directly with the athletes you have no information to tell me about the physical health of power 5 basketball players who won 19 games and made the ncaa tournament
Calling out you saying D1 P5 basketball players “unhealthy” isn’t called blind support. It’s called - calling out truly disgusting/ignorant statements made about 20 year old college women.Man, chill. I stand corrected, IU is about even with us in recruit rankings, UMich is cleaning up in the 24 class with two top 15 commits already and still in the hunt for a couple other top 50 recruits. IU is still after 3 top 25 kids, but I misread the headline thinking they already had commitments from them. Iowa is also doing very well for 24 nd 25 recruits bringing in a couple 5 stars already. Please show me the 5 star recruits that IU is pulling in, also show the ones who has helped their program become a top 10 team and big ten champions. Enough talk. Show me evidence to back up your claims.
Pride likes to think this is his board and he can be insufferably rude to anyone that he disagrees with and most of the board goes along with his boorish behavior because they are scared of confronting him.Man, chill. That anyone would get so worked up over a discussion board (indicating discussions are to occur), is laughable. Some aren’t capable of seeing different sides to a discussion. Confidence is quiet. Insecurities are loud.Pride likes to think this is his board and he can be insufferably rude to anyone that he disagrees with and most of the board goes along with his boorish behavior because they are scared of confronting him.
