I think Chuck is the fall guy.He coached this team to 8 and 8 with a slew of injuries, and the Colts were 11 and 5 each of the last three years. Its more likely that his replacement will be worse, not better.Reports are out that colts coach chuck pagano is going to be fired. The question is should he?

Especially when the Numbskull GM provided one of the worst OL in football. His signings and trades (Richardson) and his early draft picks made you wonder.I'm like you. The colts finished 8 and 8 eventhough luck played only 4 games. Not sure what more you could ask for?
I'm 50/50 on Pagano. By Purdue standards he should get an extension but I'm not sure he is a strong enough personality to get the job done. No question Grigson should be thrown out first. What a screwed up mismatched team he gave Pagano to work with. When you've got a franchise QB setting for half the season simply because you're not smart enough to assemble an OL that is at least mediocre you aren't doing your job as a GM. Couple that with a D that rivals Purdue's and there is no excuse on earth for keeping him in place.
Not a colts fan but I think I'd want him over many other nfl coaches.
He may not be on the elite level, but is far better than their g.m. and laughable owner.
I'm curious who irsay thinks he is going to hire.
would hope arians wouldn't even consider it if they did try.

Honestly, the NFL is basically a "fall guy" league. Not many coaches last long. I don't get the allure of working there - it's almost a no win situation.
You are right about most guys lasting long. Not many of them do,and I have trouble recalling every guy who has coached the Colts since 1984,when they came to Indy. The Saints joined the league in 1967,and I wonder if even their strongest fans can remember all of the coaches they have had. That may be the ultimate sports trivia question.Honestly, the NFL is basically a "fall guy" league. true, no denying the team's success w/manning and polian. So tell me why is the owner of a team who has only had three losing seasons since he became primary owner laughable? Do you not remember the laughingstock they were before he became the owner?
I know he has demons in his personal life, but his football management has been successful.
Saw that odd presser from last night. Grigson is in jeans and a Colts fleece, like he was out running errands. Pagano in a club shirt. Irsay looking orange.true, no denying the team's success w/manning and polian.
(i guess just a subtle dig because i don't care for him - the drugs, weird comments/tweets, an owner attitude that seems somewhere in between jerry jones and vince mcmahon).
colts are lucky to keep pagano vs. who they could have ended up with. pagano, caldwell, dungy - all seem to be fairly opposite of irsay, so maybe it will work out again in the long run.
