In a similar vein to my recent post about whether I should drink the Kool-Aid when it comes to the upcoming men's BB season, I have a strong compulsion to give in to the Star Wars fervor.
I was born in 1974 so as you would imagine my life was Star Wars until my teens. I lived and breathed it and was in revived fanboy nirvana in 1999 when the first prequel came out. To say the prequels were a let down is a momnumental understatement. Some of my love for Star Wars (and a lot for Lucas) died with the prequels and I knew Lucas could never make sequels worthy of his original masterpieces (which he vowed he would never make, and he lived up to his promise). Along comes Disney and JJ Abrams (who's work I enjoy) and I can't help but hope/think/pray the new sequels will be AWESOME! But like with PU's sports teams, I find myself keeping my emotions in check so I don't have my heart totally ripped out.
What say you my fellow Boilermaker nerds (is that redundant?), should I give in to the Force or follow Tiller's advice and keep my expectations in check?
