You (Burke, Daniels, us) cannot micro-manage this football team. You can't say to Hazell that we will keep you but you have to replace your OC or you have to replace your DC. Hazell has to have the authority to hire his own staff. But this brings us to the real problem.

Hazell has had 2+ years to assess the ability of Shoop & Hudson & he has decided to keep them on. So in his mind, they are doing a good job. So if Shoop and/or Hudson are incompetent, the real problem is that Hazell cannot recognize this & therefore Hazell is the person who needs to be replaced.

I'm pretty sure Hazell will shit can Shoop at the end of the year and it will be 100% his own idea.

He's got to be tired of watching the same old shit every Saturday too.

I think OPs point is/was that it was obvious Shoop was bad after his first and second year. It has been apparent for a while (since the first year) that Shoop needs to go.

Agree. He should have been gone last year.

That said, coaching isn't a fire a guy after 1 week or even half a season type profession. He's been bad this year, but us not firing him after a bad week isn't an endorsement that he'll be back or is doing a good job.

hazell could disagree with and change any game plan. Obviously he's agreed with shoop..or maybe he changes the game plan and shoop isn't the problem at all. At the end of the day it doesn't matter, hazell is in charge and he's responsible. He's shown in 3 years he will never be a successful head coach. At best, he'll end up being a position coach somewhere.

I'm convinced that John Shoop has some sort of mental issue. The play calling is schizophrenic - and when something is working - he goes away from it. Conversely, when something isn't working - he tries it over and over and over and over again.

I think he tries too hard at times to out-wit the opposing coordinator. It's classic paralysis by analysis.

For all we know, he might be some bizzaro world "genius" that's getting in his own way.

Anyways, I can't stand the guy.

There's a difference between the gameplan and what's called in the booth. Sometimes they don't match up. I think we generally come out with good gameplans but as soon as something is working it's the last we see of it.

I don't know who's fault it is...but I also don't buy they "hey....Hazell can change any and every play call that comes down". Sure he can. That's not what the HC should be doing on gameday IMO.

At this point its clear that the offense is broken beyond repair. Have to change the pieces you can (or can afford) and that means Shoop is out on his ass (or needs to be). If not, I'm not watching a single game next year.
