First game is next week. Surprised that I haven't seen a season prediction thread yet. How do you "realistically" predict Purdue's overall season, BIG record, BTT, NCAA tourney? This is your time to go on record.

Pre-Smotherman redshirt, Final Four. Now, Sweet 16. At least 2017 becomes a Sweet 16 year with 5th year Basil. Just scratching my head why you redshirt your most athletic wing when there are guys out there like Blackmon, Hayes, Jackson, Sulaimon, and Poythress.

I was very bullish on last year's team at the beginning of the year. I'm also bullish again this year.

I predict 1 OOC loss, 4 losses B10, good for 2nd in the league. The NCAA is a crapshoot, but I think they'll have the horses to get to at least a S16.

I'd be disappointed with anything less than a 4th place B10 finish.

Wasn't this Basil's choice?

i cant imagine whats going to happen if any of the purdue players give tom the wrong look this year. he will flat out put them in their place.

when you come across Thomas Crean you are going to keep your mouth shut, or you are going to get your a$$ kicked. Those are the only two options.

I hate to do it as I don't want to root for losses so I am right. I guess I will enjoy being wrong.
I think we can get through the OC schedule unscathed. We give Butler their first loss and Vandy its second.

I like how the B1G has the majority of our tough games at the end of the season. We should be rolling by then but we will probably get tripped up a few times. I will stick with my earlier prediction of 15-3 and say we lose to Michigan once, possibly Sparty as well and although I am not sold on Maryland, we lose one to them as well.
Chances are we drop one at the Barn or Iowa or somewhere we shouldn't so we may win one of the games above.

That gives us a tie with Sparty for first in the B1G.

We should do well in the conference tourney but I will say we lose in the semis. So there's another loss.

Should be good enough for a 2-3 seed or possibly a 1 and we roll into the final four and then all bets are off.

not this guy again

we get it, dude... and yes you have some good points... but just leave it alone... you're just going to get banned again

Just report his posts. Simple. It's clear he's back because he's scared.

Coming up on 1000 days since IU last beat Purdue...

Undefeated OOC
Undefeated Big Ten
Win BTT
Final Four
NC

BOOM!

Seriously
1 OOC loss
3-5 Big Ten
Finals of BTT
Elite 8 of NCAA

Because we have Ray, AJ, Biggie, Vince, enough shooters to enable us to find a hot hand most nights, and a bench I would not trade to anyone... Especially because we have Ray leading...

0 or 1 OOC loss
2-4 B1G losses, placing us at the top or runner-up
BTT Finals
FF

Wanted to get my prediction in after nailing the won- loss record last year. I see some people went with windows of possible losses and or wins. That's not a prediction that is an estimate. I'm going with 26-5 pre BTT if Hammons plays this year. If Hammons hires an agent, quits, and plays in Europe, then I'm going with 23-8 (Just covering that mess)
The 2 games in CT., along with Pittsburg, Butler, Vandy and the B1G schedule, got to believe there is 5 losses in that competition.

I know we're supposed to make the predictions before the first game, but I really want to see how our guards play together, & with the rest of the team/post players [& how their individual, collective, & paired defense is]. Because of some uncertinty at the guard spots, I think we get 1 pre B1G season loss, 3/4 [of course depending on injuries, grades, ect., ect...] B1G losses, a 2 seed in NCAA tourney. I doubt this team is a national championship team, but if our guards preform better than even the "experts" think, [especially early in the season/preseason] we could be a Final Four or national championship team.

The key to this year's team is our guard play, their defense, ability to adapt to stopping the opposition fast break, & our guard turnovers, compaired to opposition guard turnovers.

Butler and Vandy will pose threats. Both will be in the tourney, I think Seth Greenburg picked Vandy to the Final Four today (heard on the radio) so obviously getting some early pub. I would imagine Mackey will be rocking for that game and will be a tough test for AJ/Haas as D Jones is a beast.
I think we win the rest in pre-conference including the tourney that starts next week with Florida in it.

Conference will be a meat grinder with anyone capable of beating anyone on a given night. A top 3 finish would be nice. 27 wins.

It would be fun if Purdue and Vandy both came into that game undefeated. If Vandy wins Maui, they will shoot up the rankings.

I think for non-conference, one loss would be great, 2 losses would be about what I expect and 3 would be ok.

-Florida (pending we play them) has a lot of talent on their team and should better than last year.

-Vandy is considered to be top 2 or 3 in the SEC. Will be a tough game - and the game is on a weeknight before Christmas - will likely be a dull crowd.

-Pitt will be decent. Not great, but still our first true road game.

-Butler will be pretty good this year.
