It may just be me (probably is) but the B1G scheduling this season seems really.... weird. And to be sure I am not "blaming" any loss on it, the schedule just seems really wonky this season.

It's like the committee took who we were supposed to play this season and put them on name tags with double-sided tape, then threw it up against a calendar and whatever stuck.. that is when we play.

Personally .. I would love to see the pre-season shortened and then bring back playing each team twice. To me that would also return the regular season title to it's former glory and not the shell of what it is today.

I haven't looked, but has anyone else noticed wonkiness in other team's schedules as well? Is it just me? Do I simply need a vacation?

Two teams likely to be competing strongly with Purdue for the B1G championship, Michigan State and Maryland, do not play each other at all until the very last day of the season (with MD getting the Spartans at home like they do for most of their tough one game opponents this season). Our last game (vs Northwestern) is still listed as a Sat/Sun TBD date. It's possible we could be sitting home that Sunday waiting for the results of that MSU@MD game to know where we seed in the B1G tournament, and if we win, or at least share, the regular season title.

It goes hand-in hand with the unbalancing of the schedule. When each conference team has eight single game-plays with certain opponents, it's going to happen once in a while. Also, you'll have the opposite like with Purdue/Iowa playing twice very early on (similar to last year).

When Penn State joined, it wasn't too bad....8 home/away and two single plays (one away, one home). Then came Nebraska.....okay 7 home/away and four single plays. Adding Maryland and Rutgers.....down to 5 series and 8 singles. Doing the math, if you get the Big Sixteen.....that would be 3 series and 12 singles. I don't foresee adding more conference games, although football did add one recently, but you still have unbalanced divisions and schedules.

Similar things happen with the ACC and unbalancing every now and then; maybe even more so with 15 teams.

Wisconsin has three of its last five as single plays.....Maryland, @ Michigan State, Iowa.

Absolutely hate the unbalanced schedule! It has made the regular season title so irrelevant and I don't like that. The regular season should be the big prize. It's earned over months of competition and travel not a single weekend in one place. However, that's where we are and it's not going back. Just makes me miss the balanced home and home and the importance of the conference title.

Unusual scheduling: IU playing 3 home games to open the conference. Didn't help them, just found it strange.

I'm not a fan of the expanded league. For one, it makes the league sound stupid. 14 teams in the big 10. Also liked it when we played everyone twice. Don't need some of these alsorans anyways.

Sorry, I didn't know the ND game counted towards the title. Yeah Purdue can win at home but they can't handle average/below average road games. Not the formula for winning the conference
