There is NO POINT getting dragged into WW3 with Russia under any circumstances. They are a hermit kingdom. They suck at everything. Their empire would last about 10 years max before it all crumbles. Cooler heads need to prevail here. Even if they got all of Eastern Europe they would crumble in 10 years.

Putin’s lack of accurate long range shooting and low war IQ will leave him no choice but to play in Europe.
