We are currently going 10 deep, with all of them getting 15 to 25 minutes. History indicates we'll need to tighten to probably 8 as far as players getting double digit minutes, but it seems like different guys are performing well at different times. Do you agree the rotation will need to be tightened? If so, when will coach start doing it?

At this point, I'm not sure who of the 10 would have their minutes reduced. PJ's doing a good job protecting the basketball and doing the little thing that help (e.g. the rebound he darted in to get), but unless he starts shooting a little better I could see him being the first.

Btw, Duke and UK each played 7 deep in their recent game.

I think Cline's minutes could go down, as you say, if Dakota and Kendall keep hitting shots and playing good D.

And I do think Johnny's minutes could go up and PJ's down unless PJ is able to hit a higher percentage of his shots. I have been loving Johnny's shot selection so far this year. Let's see how our PG's do against Kasey Hill tomorrow - good early season test for them.

I think the rotation will vary from game to game depending on the team. If we see a lot of zone, then DM, KS and RC will all play a lot. CMP will go with the hot hand. KS was the first to warm up today. I like having the depth, especially if any injuries pop up.

PJ's now played 74 minutes in 4 games and has yet to turn the ball over. I think he's playing at least 12 minutes per game the rest of the season.

I agree PJ's done a great job protecting the basketball. Hill has also done well (1 TPG), and he has averaged more assist, steals, and rebounds than PJ. They will both get minutes, because a fresh PJ is better than a gassed Johnny, but I think Johnny will end up playing considerably more minutes if current patterns persist.

Thinking about Cline again, Painter's comment about Cline being the best on the team at moving and shooting makes me think Cline's minutes could actually increase if Mathias and/or Stephens get cold once we start playing tougher defenses that force them to sprint all over the court around screens for their shots. We might see some of that today actually.

Like I said I haven't "seen" us yet but I freeking can't wait to. I think a shorter rotation is usually better but idk who the heck doesn't make 8 or 9.
