This board is beyond dead since the format change. Who is hanging around?

Meh...stopped posting and visit much less often after growing tired of seeing the board bullies rub others' noses in shit. Life's too short and I have plenty of other stuff to do over here.

Always keep your head high and no one can ever rub your nose in shit. Or something like that.

Personally, I don't find the conversation around here all that stimulating--intellectually or otherwise.

That's part of the reason I've been posting MUCH less. Most of the board has turned into a few posters just sniping at each other over and over again. And I'll admit . . GMM makes the board more interesting.

-Tough to say, part of it might be the format change. I am ok with it but liked the old thread view better. That said, this time of year is pretty slow anyway. If it is still slow in the Fall with footballl season and political primary season around the corner that would be more telling.

-This board compared to other sites GD/Politcal forum boards such as NDnation is a step or two behind in terms of volumes of posts, volume of posters, and number of topics. I mean, it is to the point on here where you pretty much know poster's stances, what topics they will get involved in, how they will argue, and what topics will be brought up.

I want to think that every now and then this board has a decent and respectful interaction where various sides are willing to admit when they're exposed to a compelling and coherent argument. I want to think that Purdue folks capable of such a feat, but if you asked me to cite a recent example, I couldn't do it.

That said, I'm still here.

I still check in every day or two. It just seems that we have fallen into a rut rehashing many of the same items over and over though. One side good, the other side bad.

I like boobs.

Who doesn't?

Among the missing is another chap who was extraordinarily good at being evasive and ambiguous with his replies, and completely incapable of answering even the simplest yes/no or true/false questions. For all of his posts about "taking a stand" or "holding onto one's convictions", it's surprising that he allowed a simple format change to silence him.

I guess his convictions really never were that strong. Or maybe he just painted himself into a corner from which he could not exit.

A lot of "I'm too good for this place" or "this place is in a rut" posts. And that's fine...I left for awhile when this place was really a cesspool.

Having said that, if some of the posters bemoaning the quality here would start a thread every once in awhile, or jump into threads more, then perhaps the quality they seek would improve?

Particularly since apparently a lot of folks have left due to/because of the format change.

I don't get the complaints about the format change, but whenever you change something that is that ingrained, many are bound to complain a lot. See the reseating in Ross Ade!

I'm still here, but as I said a few months back I am actively trying to reduce participation. I waste too much time here and KHC. So I probably check once or twice a day and reply to whatever strikes my fancy without engaging in 200 post threads as much as possible.

I've decreased time here because KHC has become a cesspool (everyone is in camps, then we've got that idiot with the disgusting avatar posting all the time), and I have gravitated towards music and guitar forums. The non-guitar discussion on those forums is dumber than here, but there's less of it.

You do all realize that the whole point of this thread was to get BoilersRock to post something?....

Seriously, it's good to see some of the regulars here at a time when we could have been discussing a whole bunch of very interesting topics. Maybe things will pick up.
