I'd hire him in second.Today's Exponent says Rod Woodson really wants the Purdue job. Has applied.
Maybe as DC?Today's Exponent says Rod Woodson really wants the Purdue job. Has applied.
If he let's other coaches run everything else, I'd take him as a HC.Maybe as DC?
He wants to be head coach. He thinks he can turn the program around.Maybe as DC?
I love it that he's interested, but we would need some pretty awesome coordinators to make that work.If he let's other coaches run everything else, I'd take him as a HC.
Completely agree. An all star set of coordinators would be a requirement I would think.I love it that he's interested, but we would need some pretty awesome coordinators to make that work.
Unless like others have suggested they bring him in as a DC. I could see that working out well, depending of course who the HC is.I don't know what to make of this article. I wonder why the Exponent ran it, especially if there's no indication that Woodson is a serious candidate. Are they just floating a rumor? Are they grandstanding for Woodson? And what do we make of the last three paragraphs, especially hose Dienhart quotations, that appear to shoot the whole thing down.
It puts Bobinski in something of a bind. If he bites he takes an enormous risk. If Bobinski passes he risks alienating one of the program's biggest stars.
The fact he gave him a legitimate interview was more than enough deference to a program legend. If he professionally interviewed him and let him know he decided it was best to go in another direction, i dont see where alienation would come in. RW has been in the NFL a long time. He gets the football business and is a big boy.I don't know what to make of this article. I wonder why the Exponent ran it, especially if there's no indication that Woodson is a serious candidate. Dickerson and the Rams, Walton and UCLA....are both cancers who should shut up and stay away. Same with Woodson who is not qualified to be a P5 HC. Let him go earn it as an assistant.I live in CA -the Rams have gotten into a similar controversey with Eric Dickerson who apparently thinks hes owed something for being a retired HF player and is inclined to question Jeff Fisher and assistants. Unless Woodson has some sort pull w/Sumlin from their time here in 1980's, its best to kindly decline his request for interview or consideration-its more likely to end in hurt feelings ala Rick Mount

Never said he was....was simply pointing out how some can be like Walton has become with UCLA basketball. What I did say, and I believe it, is that Rod needs to pay his dues and learn how to be a HC.How is Woodson a cancer?
It all depends on one vital point: Who has the better mustache?Woodson or Spack?
Brohm for HC, RW for DC.I'm getting worried with all this Woodson talk if there's feelers being put out for the fans to see what they think Hell yes, I'm paranoid.
Has Brohm interviewed? Are you slightly concerned about him? Only 3 year recruiting sample, never had to rebuild a program. Nice offense but like many candidates would have been better as a choice to succeed Hope.Brohm for HC, RW for DC.
Recruiting is a problem if you don't have a network of HS coaches already and assistant coaches that Woodson is close to.Recruiting wouldn't be a problem at all.
