obviously just a who knows... Part of me thinks that this was the highly likely scenario. Nothing changed , toy with msu and now statements like "bring purdue a national championship" decision this time "wasn't that tough" and " purdue had everything he wanted" . All odd considering nothing changed and after committing to msu he said PU wasn't in his top 3. You gotta wonder at this point if this wasn't what happened all along.

Whatever the motive/reasons I love it and I love the fact that he is exactly the opposite to what the media spun him as. Meaning having some home state pride. Boy what a day to be a boiler fan. I love my avatar even more now

I wasn't ready to get excited until I saw Biggie's actual #boilerup tweet. Now I'm excited, but still counting the minutes until his enrollment and first class to make it absolutely official. Hate to say it folks, but if the AD is smart they'll start working on new expensive ticket packages now. Even if this is his only year, and even if we fall short of expectations, we absolutely must capitalize monetarily on this years hype and roll that money into much needed areas of depravity. If this opportunity is squandered by the AD, then it really should be Burke's last dance.

I don't understand this revenge thing. I know Purdue fans don't care much for MSU, but what revenge would a teenager wish on MSU? Why would he construct this elaborate game to create bad blood? Seems weird. Many teens change their minds a lot, so perhaps that is just it. Maybe Caleb really rethought his decision and how his college career would end up, and improved his decision before it was too late.

Well. I know a lot of people are still butthurt about Dawson and Harris. But even on the .0001 chance that there was some weird revenge plan in place here to try to get back at MSU for any perceived recruiting improprieties I don't think it would have anything to do with him per say but the adults around, which would just be really sad.

You guys have valid points unless he actually grew up a purdue fan. If I was given the chance at his age I wouldn't have thought twice about it.

But I watched pu bball since I wss 7-8 not sure how many start that young

Kids don't think long term where their adult advisers do. I'm fairly certain that Barnes and Parker being millionaires outside of playing sports may have been reiterated to the young man. MSU is not known for athletes who make millions with their GS, Weightlifting and other pud degrees. Mateen Cleaves was broke and had to take a job as Izzo's gofer to stay alive. Those are lessons I'm sure were repeated ad nauseum to Caleb.

I don't buy the revenge thing. I'm happy we got him and just think he's had a tough time making his choice. It's tough enough to be a teenager trying to pick the right fork in the road but when you're a potential NBA millionaire with the right preparation the choice must be a lot tougher. As Yogi said "When you come to the fork in the road, take it!!" I'm glad he took the fork that led to West Lafayette.

Sure, and I did too. Purdue was one of the first on him at 8th grade, but growing up a Purdue fan and being a high level recruit have to balance out somewhere. A kid as talented as him can't afford to let his fandom get in the way of his hopes and dreams, it all could have completely backfired on him. Or what if he had gotten hurt or something. I just think that a kid of this level in a process that has become a shame and a circus, has enough to think about other than trying to pull one over on a rival school before he even gets to the other school. I mean if he really wanted to do that, why not do it to IU?
