Hello all,

My sister and her husband (both Purdue grads...she in education and he in flight) are trying to raise money to build and off-the-grid small home in Seattle for an organization called 'The Block Project.' They are currently at $20,962 raise of the needed $35,000 and would be the second ever house built for this project in Seattle. They also volunteer frequently at a local group called 'Facing Homelessness' where they donate time and resources to the community of homeless indidividuals in Seattle. They have hit a bit of a bump in the road for their donations and I wanted to help out in any way that I could to get this message in front of any fellow Boilermakers that I could.

About the Block Project":
What if the solution to homelessness was right in our own backyards? Help us build a dignified home for a neighbor living on the streets. The BLOCK Project is a community-driven solution to homelessness, building small, off-grid homes in residential backyard for people who are homeless.

Meet the Team Leaders for this Campaign, Jeff & Meredith Browand:
"Our family has been forever changed by the relationships we've gained while volunteering at Facing Homelessness. We dream of fully funding a BLOCK Home to "pay it forward" and to provide stability and solitude to someone living outside. Please join us in this big love lived out loud."

And their boys:
"Building a BLOCK Home will help someone have a better life and feel more protected. Help us raise the money!" - John, age 10

"The best part of being at Facing Homelessness is spending time with the friends I've made." - Pete, age 8

I have provided a direct link to their page here: The Browand Block Home Project

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!!
