for 2016. If the empty seats didn't get Hazell fired, then what are the boycotting people going to do now? I recommend coming to support the BOILERS. They never deserved the empty stadium.
Of course he is back for 2016, because that was his destiny, right? Is it Shoops destiny to be back for 2016 also?for 2016. I'm not surprised some folks disagree with me. This argument has nothing to do with our record or who is Nebraskas QB. And as far as being beat up, we had DJ Knox, Bentley and Herman all out. My point simply was that Hazell will be the coach next year, and now that this point of mine has been confirmed as a fact, then why don't the crowds come back and support the players? Boycotting did not get Hazell fired. Period. Illinois has been outscored 96-3 in their last 3 games and this is our homecoming game...we're going to win this game. No need to boycott. The players need the fans. It helps them.In fairness, "reports" aren't definitive. There are obviously some fans that think boycotting games will help bring the change they are looking for. That said, your "reports" and question as to what said fans are going to do now is pretty silly given that there is no guarantee that he will or won't be fired if fans do or don't show up.
I'm not making a value judgment on whether boycotting or whatever is right, wrong, or other... just pointing out that the whole line of thinking in your question is a little off.
I'm not on the board every day, but I haven't seen you post in a few weeks. Taking a 6-week hiatus while the team is getting pillaged on the field and then showing up on the board carrying a big stick - perhaps coincidentally - after the team unconvincingly beats a Nebraska squad that is not only below average this season, but one that is beat up and playing a first-time starter QB.... well, surely you can't be surprised that some folks are disagreeing with you.

I think you missed the point of my post. A "report" that he'll be back - while there are still 4 games to play, 2 of which are at home against the worst teams in the B1G and should/could be considered winnable - is not the same thing as a FACT that he'll be the coach next year. A lot could change in 4 weeks. Regardless, my post wasn't to chastise you for your enthusiasm or your rally cries for support of the program, rather just to point out that the way you framed your argument made little sense. My point simply was that Hazell will be the coach next year, and now that this point of mine has been confirmed as a fact, ...
