I don't understand. I was saying that if I led a rebellion, I would have 300k. 2k rioting IMO classifies it as a mob scene, probably set off by the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, but I would add ANTIFA and the DOJ. And as Boiler JS added, rubber bullets and tear gas.
I also think Trump should not have pardoned anyone who attacked a police officer or did damage, unless withheld documentation shows there were other factors.
I also agree that Trump should have called in more security when he saw the rioting. That is Trump's only verifiable goof. Everything else I see is speculation. I want you to march to the Capitol peacefully. We are going to lose this football game if we don't fight.
If the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers were serious about overthrowing the government, they would have supplied guns and explosives.

My contention is that the Proud Boys or the Oath Keepers wanted to either throw a scare into Pence or make a statement. I don't have the facts to make more than a speculation. I also think ANTIFA and the DOJ wanted this to flare up so that we never hear from Trump again.
My speculation is backed by NYC and the state of Georgia bringing charges against Trump. In GA to say find me an additional 14k (?) votes is fine, it does not mean falsifying 14k ballots. I've told you already about the truth regarding Bergdorff's. In commercial real estate, brokers often exaggerate figures. The bank has evaluators of property. For a judge to determine the value of a property is ludicrous. The bottom line is that there was NO crime as the bank got back its loan plus interest. BTW, at one point, the Governor of NY told commercial realtors not to worry, they are only bringing charges against Trump. She was fearful that the commercial real estate business would curtail.

I've lived threw a real insurrection. I was stationed at Clark Air Base, Philippines, when President Ferdinand Marcos was run out of the country. A mob stormed his palace in Manila, Marcos and his family flew a USAF chopper to CAB, and from there they were flown on a USAF C-141 to Anderson AFB in Guam. Marcos never returned to the Philippines. That was an insurrection. What happened on Jan 6th was a complete mission failure by the cowardly Capitol Police.
An attempted insurrection. Went in that building to take it over, and hang the VP and Speaker of the House.
Like many things Trump, their plan was planning was crappy and the thing was a train wreck. And a clown show.
So if they do take over the Capitol Building and string up the VP and the Speaker, then the Capitol Police would muster enough spine to say "Stop! You ruffians must stop doing that immediately or each of us is going to take our handgun from our holster, take our bullet from our shirt pocket (Nancy let each of them have a bullet today, Barney Fife style) and start shooting somebody!"
So do you think the rag-a-muffins would just hunker down in the Capitol or would thay storm the Pentagon next?

On Jan 6th, both things happened: A mob a rag-a-muffins protested at the Capitol, and clearly some of the protesters were violent while some were peaceful. You like to talk about a clown show, here we had some CP officers in hand-to-hand combat at the same time that other CP were ushering protesters into the building and escorted them thru it.
Either way, the Capitol Police had complete mission failure. It is their job to protect the building and its occupants and they clearly did not.
All 200+ Capitol Police had handguns. The protesters did not. They should have shot those who tried to break into the building. They failed. They are cowards and that's why four of them committed suicide after Jan 6th.
And what does trump say when his supporters are shot? Can't even imagine how he would use that as a political tool. How does every single MAGA in the country, except you of course, react to trump supporters be shot dead during a protest? How many lawsuits for using excessive force.......which it would have been, your Stalinist viewpoint aside? How many other protests would have occurred because of the gunning down of unarmed civilians by the state.........with dems in charge........resulting in how many more deaths and injuries?

I have wondered. Have republicans just completely given up on the blue lives matter mantra? I find it so odd that the police here get crucified by the party that quite literally attacked them pretty soon after the same party made such a big deal about how important blue lives were. How many BLM protesters were shot during the 6 months of 'mostly peaceful' BLM protests? I mean, a number were shot by other protesters but few, if any by the police.
Most likely because they did not want to harm the many, and I mean many white folks in attendance during those riots.
