As recruiting weekends go this one ranks among the best. Most talent assembling at Purdue on official visits in a long time. The possibility of having the biggest impact on Purdue of any weekend I can remember. It's nice to be excited about this recruiting weekend. It's nice to have confidence that our recruiting weekend will be successful due to the coaching staff we have assembled. The excitement is back in Purdue football (at least for me).

I think what excites me most about this recruiting weekend is the fact that this staff has been able to put this kind of group together on short notice. I'm optimistic that Brohm & Co. are going to significantly upgrade the talent on this roster sooner than later. It'll be fun to see what kind of class he can put together with a full year or more to do so.

Get as many pretty girls as possible for the tours!
I think a few years ago when Hope was around they enlisted some of the Gold Dusters to be recruiting hosts? Not sure we do that any longer though? Besides there are'nt that many pretty ones-it is Purdue, you know...............

Get some hoes like Colorado does...

Just kidding man...Who need hoes when got Brohm. I'm like many here are excited about Purdue football again.

4* Db Juco Williams from indy , 3* DE Harris from LA, juco 2 * OL Palomares , juco 3* WR Terry Wright from Kansas , maybe 3* WR/TE Owuso from California, USC grad OL/DL Rodgers, 3* TE Hendershott from IU is next week. 3* RB Jordan is the 27th. these are the ones I know about. I believe there are at least 3-4 more.

I believe the most likely commitment will come from Palomares.

the above info was obtained from player tweets and other sites and is not VIP info.

While I hope that we get all of these guys that we truly want, the question will continue to be how do we fit all of these guys in? Obviously the staff knows more than we do about scholarship numbers, but by my count we are down to 4-5 total scholarships remaining. Of course this is only a problem if every one of these guys wanted to commit, but I think we'd all like to have that problem. It is why we have to think more defections will be on the way.

Will JB Keep the "Purple Haze" Giant sized Chocolate Chip cookie that was decorated in Purdue Colors as bait for this upcoming recruiting class????? It was a HUGE success...4 stars gobbled them up and never signed with us.........

Kelti Williams is the biggest need from this weekend. Crucial for our defense. He will be the best player in our class.

I'm not that worried about how they fit as I doubt we sign more than half of the recruits that visit. It's not a matter of the recruits not liking or wanting Purdue. it's more a matter of Purdue is at a point where they can be more selective. I know of at least 4 wide receivers who will be visiting in the next 3 weeks. I have to believe Brohm only wants to sign 1 more WR. the same applies to DB. Brohm only wants one more, and that person is Williams. I believe Brohm wants to add 1-2 offensive lineman and 1-2 defensive lineman. and maybe 1 running back and 1 tight end. And I see names of recruits coming the next three weeks at those positions. That would be a maximum of 8 additional players added , but a likelihood of 6. And I think that's doable within our scholarship structure and openings.

I've talked a lot about Potts, and he has a lot of talent. But if Purdue lands Williams, I doubt there would be any additional interest in pursuing Potts or any other DB.. I believe that may have been why White went to Cincy. Brohm wanted him to play safety, but he liked Jallow more than he liked White.

A difference I've noticed in Brohm is rather than just signing somebody because they are a 3 star, Brohm first evaluated our needs and talent before just giving out a bunch of scholarships. Hazell had a bad tendency to see an athlete and then stock up at 1-2 positions, and not address his holes/needs. Under Hazell, Purdue had a bunch of quality running backs who never saw a chance to play. The same was true about Dbs. How many did we really need?

I'm hoping Brohm can gain commitments from Williams and Harris. I'm not sold we need another WR or TE. I'd like to see Brohm take a flyer on the grad transfer OL from Florida or USC. I'd like to see Brohm bring DE Sharpe to Purdue.

And I'm confident there are about 50 new names that will appear in the next three weeks. I never knew of Osuwa, Payton or Wright before this week. maybe a new name will surface like the kid who is leaving Notre Dame, or the 4 decommitts from Minn. My hope is Brohm leaves one scholarship open just in case.

I thought linebacker was a position of need. Why haven't we signed any yet? 4 out of the 7 on the roster will graduate this year. Am I missing something here?

Other needs, like OL and DL are far more pressing

You are correct sir. Brohm is able to be alittle more selective which is great. Bring in the biggest need and not just anybody. I just can't wait till next season when he has the whole class to recruit how he wants. If I was a great offensive player I would want to play for Brohm because that is what he is known for.

Add JucO 3* WR Isaac Zico to the list of visitors. and supposedly another grad transfer db

Dante Johnson is also going to be here. 2 star DE/DT from Florida. Offers from Iowa State, Temple, UCF, and WKU. He is listed on 247 as 6'4 and 250. Has great speed and strength for his size and could translate well to DT if he can add 30-50 pounds. I haven't heard anybody talking about him yet, but he could be a nice addition.

hopefully it'll be Lamonte McDougle.

Would be nice.

"Experts" seem to think WVU...but Purdue can sure sell playing time...although that is from ideal at DT...but looking at the depth chart there's a need

Mcdougle has somebody really nice offers. His pinned tweet is the Purdue offer and he is visiting later this month. He would likely start from day 1. He already has the weight. Would be an impressive get

Lamonte is coming net weekend. He is a big boy. We need DT's big enough to play now if needed. Dante is a down the road DT after he adds 50 lbs.

To be honest, we could use both of them. Lamonte we need in the immediate future, but if Dante puts on weight, he could be an extremely good college DT. I like them both a lot. We don't have as much competition for Dante so he is more likely at this point. I am pulling for CJB to sign Lamonte though. That would be big time to sign him over top program offers. CJB seems to know what he is doing with recruiting, now we just need to close the deal on some of these folks.

hey State Street, due to my increasingly lousy vision ( McDougle coming the following weekend) I'm going out on a limb and believe it to be Williams. Still hoping for McDougle though.

OL Hudson made his official visit and promptly decommitted opening up another offensive line position. This is rather odd and may give a hint as to future offensive line commitments.
