I know I have been down some because of Brohm's class and I know where we are. But who are most excited about in the upcoming class of future Purdue players. Personally I am most excited for our WR's, Hamilton, Edwards, Zico. Also T.J. Jallow from EMCC (of Last Chance U Fame).

It will be a year or two before we can dress this kid in full armor but LB C. Jones squares up nicely in the hole and ball carriers stop moving forward. Sounds simple but watch this kid tackle!!!

Mackey.....I think he's better than his official rating......played against some of the best HS competition in the country.

Mackey. He could have easily walked away, but he stayed. One of the better recruits and he will have some time to develop before being thrown into the fire. I am really glad he decided to stay.

this may sound dumb. but I'm most excited about the recruits we didn't sign. Why? because unlike Hazell, Brohm actually went out and tried to recruit them. Just think of the team we could have had if Brohm was able to convince players like Yeast, Moore, White, Potts, Williams, Matthews, Harris, McDougle, Jordan, Sterling Jones, Beery, and several others to join us. And in many cases, we were in their top 3 final choices. With Hazell, he would have never risked trying to recruit them and they wouldn't have considered us..

The fact we even had a chance brought some excitement to our fans and this board.

And by losing out on these players, it makes me believe we will recruit this level of player in the future, and we will win some of those future battles.

Zico ,Sipe, Larry, Beach in that order

Looks like an Appleby verses Etling comparison. The question is which player is a better fit for the system Brohm wants to employ? A drop back QB? Or a mobile running one?

Brohm has openly said he will convert his system to best support his QB's abilities...so pretty much the opposite of what you saw with Hazell and Shoop (having Rob Henry be a dropback passer for example)

A question I would have. I'm not going to question the talent levels of Alstott and Sipe. But in the future, do you see Brohm recruiting the best talented QB , and adapting his offense to utilize the talents of that QB ? Or do you see Brohm recruiting the best QB that fits into his offensive scheme?

For years ND would go after an option QB rather the best QB and Air Force would go after a running QB, and Stanford would have a drop back pro QB.

My guess is that despite what he may say about adopting his program to his QB's abilities, he'll recruit a QB that is the better match for his system. I almost envision despite his accomplishments last year, Brohm giving Sindelar a chance to beat out Blough as our starter. Purdue is going to pass and pass a lot. sindelar seems a better fit.

have you looked at the Western Ky stats from this past season on rushing? I think Purdue will run more than what you think this coming season

Again, go look at all the pressers that Brohm has had since he was hired. He has literally stated, multiple times, he will tailor his offense to the strength of the players in it. If that means he runs the ball more, is more balanced, or throws it 70 times a game...that is what he is going to so that it gives his team the best chance to win football games. Again, go and do some research before you start passing judgement on a coach before he has even had a chance to run a single practice...let alone be on the sideline for a Saturday game.

Sipe and Allstott will almost certainly redshirt. Sipe in particular really needs to bulk up and mature. I would guess, Northern will plug into 3rd string at QB this fall. I expect Sparks and possibly Allstott eventually at other positions by the following year. They are both good enough athletes to play special teams early on in my opinion.

I do research. but I've stopped listening to coaches at press conferences and what they say to the media. I've been lied to too many times by Purdue coaches and Purdue ADs. When Morgan solicited money from me, I was informed, and he went public at his press conference as well saying that Hope was fired because he wanted to hire a coach to take us to the next level rather than being a .500 team. Morgan did not say we would rebuild and go to 1-11. He basically implied, the lowest level would be 6-6 and Hazell would take it from there and increase the win total. When hazell was fired, and again I was solicited for money, I was informed by Bobinsky the reason Hazell was fired was his inability to recruit. So we brought in Brohm , and he inherited a class by Hazell that was ranked 13th in the BIG 10 - unloaded 12 of Hazell's recruits, and added 16 of his own and wow, we moved from 13th to 14th in the BIG 10. for all the hoopla, I'm not seeing any improvement in recruiting other than Brohm is working harder at it. I see better WR, and worse linebackers, defensive line and running backs and tight ends. and Hazell recruited the two QBs and Parker recruited our highest ranked receiver.

Hazell said in his pressers he would not change QBs in mid season, and who ever won the job would keep the job. and then he replaces Henry with Etling and replaces Etling with Appleby and then goes back to Etling and then throws in Blough. But Hazell sounded soooooo sincere and positive. It was all a bunch of BS and coach speak.

I'm tired of listening to coaches and what they say. I feel like I've been lied to by coaches, ADs and Purdue and other Presidents for the past 10 years all the while being solicited once a month for more money. When I see that Purdue caller ID, I no longer answer the phone.

So if you try to tell me, it's true just because you heard it in a press conference, I would tell you to do some research and find out the last time a coach told you the truth. I've looked a long time for the truth and am still searching. I would support the program a lot more if the coach came out and said we're going to suck this year and we're not in the same league as OSU, but we're going to try. .

You need an outlet other than this board...badly.

One thing we need to get these two star, under-sized athletes in the weight-room immediately.

That's why the good lord created redshirts...

only one I'm worried about is McWilliams. He's a 200 lb DE right now, that needs to add 30% more mass. That's a lot. If he can't get to 250 he may never play - like Tim Faison. I think everyone else can get to playing weight within a year.

I am eager to see the receivers and defensive backs.Because of the huge holes on the depth chart at those spots,we probably will see the new guys right away.

One forgets that what position a HS player is may not necessarily where they play in college!

An undersized 4-3 DE could be a quick stand up OLB in a 3-4 or a even a strong safety!

Tiller had a lot of success in switching positions after evaluating his talent....Spring Training and Fall Camp will tell soon enough...it is going to be a good ride to watch!

The only bad thing is we need depth now.

Higgins and Hightower are already at weight. They are the DE depth additions, along with what we had already (Miles, Turner)
Hightower weighed in at 270 lbs during his OV, and I think he'll redshirt and get beefed up to 300 lbs and in 2018 will be a lineman of some type, DL or OL. At 6'6" and 300 lbs he could be such a blessing.

TJ McCollum

I think Darius Pittman is going to be a stud TE. I love his athletisism for the position he looks like an animal on HUDL.

Edwards and Barnes. Edwards has the frame to be an NFL sized receiver and has the wheels to go with. Offer list was also probably the most impressive of anyone in the signing class. Throw in that he is already on campus working out it wouldn't surprise me if he were a starter this fall.

Read about how Barnes basically did everything in high school. Very productive RB, tackle/turnover machine at LB and took back a kick for a touchdown as a return man. I think he is the diamond in the rough in this class.
