While I like many of the things Trump did, voting for one that is senile and lost, and the other a classic bully spewing nasty comments about anyone in his way makes neither a good option. Can't this country do better?
I pointed you to Chart number 4 which shows the trend specifically for "synthetic opioids other than methadone"(which includes fentanyl). Take a few minutes and read the graph again. The chart shows the trend started well before Biden was president which was my original claim.
I'm not saying we don't need to do anything about it but that trend started when Obama was president, accelerated under Trump and continued during Bidens first term. Blaming it all on Biden just doesn't match the data,
I know no matter how much data I present it won't change your mind but maybe someone else who reads the post may understand things are a little more nuanced.
Common ground. 😀While I like many of the things Trump did, voting for one that is senile and lost, and the other a classic bully spewing nasty comments about anyone in his way makes neither a good option. Can't this country do better?
If you read my comment, I wasnt blaming Biden, but said if people blamed Trump (like Biden), then they should blame Biden. Seems logical. It’s not like Trump purposefully “launched” COVID, but the Democrats certainly pointed a finger. The majority of deaths that occurred during the fall wave were among unvaccinated people. If you did a five minute internet search you could verify this, During the Trump administration the vaccine was developed and approved, Biden's team did a fairly good job of rolling it out and anybody who wanted a vaccine could have had it before Delta hit but there were still a lot of people who wouldn't get vaccinated. Not sure how this is Biden's fault.
Agree that both parties need to do what they can to stop it. My point was it's easier said than done, For all of the tough rhetoric and positions Trump took on the boarder he was unable to slow it down. Not his fault, its just not an easy fix.Hope you can understand the trend started pre-Biden does NOT invalidate that fentanyl deaths are up even more now under Biden. As a matter of fact the Biden numbers must indeed be very bad ....since they are higher NOW than the higher numbers you pointed to under Trump.
The fentanyl is flowing from the border. Bith parties should try to stop it.
If the Senate (both D&R) would have let Trump build the wall in 2016 maybe perhaps that would have helped both the Trump fentanyl numbers and the crazy higher Biden fentanyl death numbers.....as one possible weapon in the fentanyl flow from Mexico.
I don't believe could have stopped it. Could he have led better? Probably. But I don't blame Trump for Covid anymore than I blame him for the unemployment and the dip in the stock market that came with it.If you read my comment, I wasnt blaming Biden, but said if people blamed Trump (like Biden), then they should blame Biden. I agree with all of the above, (I even thought Trump should have implemented the Patriot Act to ensure N95 masks were available) but I would much rather Trump leading this country out of inflation than. Biden. Trump left $1T in the purse for Biden to spend and then Biden came in and passed another $1.9T. And Biden wanted to spend more and still wants to spend more…and in all likelihood will spend more…except Manchin is dragging his feet thankfully.I don't believe could have stopped it. I don't like his rhetoric and I believe he was bad for the country but I agree some people tried to use Covid for political gain, but man his talk of lasers and disinfectant made it so easy.
