Never too early for good bourbon. I've waited too damn long to kick this season down the hill.Starting awful early for a Monday game, aren't you?
I’ve got lots of bourbon in my collection 😉. I’ll see your Ezra Brooks and have a pour of Old Ezra 7 and Old Foresters 1910 & maybe an Old Elk Double Wheat…😎 BOILER UP 💛🖤Back for the LS (liquor store) with a handle of Ezra Brooks 99 proof. No messing around. I ordered some Old Forester for future stressful games. Now ... Bring it ... answer some questions (the right answers only) and show me some stuff.
I found it interesting how much debate there is over 1910 vs 1920. My tongue is not that discerning. At least not with bourbon.I’ve got lots of bourbon in my collection 😉. I’ll see your Ezra Brooks and have a pour of Old Ezra 7 and Old Foresters 1910 & maybe an Old Elk Double Wheat…😎 BOILER UP 💛🖤
Mix for the "1915"I found it interesting how much debate there is over 1910 vs 1920. My tongue is not that discerning. At least not with bourbon.
I've got "problems" according to my lovely wife. A collection is fun, but you better have those "go-to" bottles. What is yours? I would say for me.... Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey 101 and maybe EH Taylor Small Batch.I’ve got lots of bourbon in my collection 😉. For me, personally. This years Birthday Bourbon was just ok. I prefer the single barrel/barrel proof over all of them.I found it interesting how much debate there is over 1910 vs 1920. My tongue is not that discerning. At least not with bourbon.

Go to bottle, so hard to choose: Old Elk Double Wheat, Reamus Gatsby, Mid Winters Night Dram, Davies County Toasted. Russell Reserve 10,I've got "problems" according to my lovely wife. Mid Winters is flat out delicious. RR 10 definitely a no brainier. RR 13 is one of my favoritesGo to bottle, so hard to choose: Old Elk Double Wheat, Reamus Gatsby, Mid Winters Night Dram, Davies County Toasted. Russell Reserve 10,
This is a great selection. I will add Grand 114 to that.1. Redemption High Rye (I am a pepper freak)
2. Woodford Reserve
3. Old Grand Dad Bonded
*** MY fav to drink is not a bourbon - Reb Breast 12 (or 16 if I'm rich for a day)
Of course!!!This is a great selection. I will add Grand 114 to that.
It can definitely be a discussion.on Neb football board ( page 5 ) there's a thread w/ 601 posts discussing Bourbon
A bourbon discussion definitely defines "subjective."It can definitely be a discussion.
Russell reserve 10, Johnny Drum, Woodford Double Oaked, Larceny…Looking for a recommendation.
-Under $50
-Viscous mouth feel, too many bourbons seem “thin” to me for lack of a better word
-Sweeter end notes, butterscotch and toffee. I like to drink bourbon with dark chocolate in the evenings.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
I just had the Double Oak, liked the finish, very cherry when you have it with chocolate. But it did have that thin mouthfeel to me. Maybe they don’t get thicker than that, I’m certainly a shade tree bourbon drinker.Russell reserve 10, Johnny Drum, Woodford Double Oaked, Larceny…
Yah Woodford is on the thin side. Under 50 in this market makes it tougher lolI just had the Double Oak, liked the finish, very cherry when you have it with chocolate. But it did have that thin mouthfeel to me. Maybe they don’t get thicker than that, I’m certainly a shade tree bourbon drinker.
Appreciate the other picks.
Buy a shot at a bar before buying a bottle:Looking for a recommendation.

You’re probably right about the price, I just don’t have enough passion for the hobby to spend much more.Yah Woodford is on the thin side. Under 50 in this market makes it tougher lol
I'd say anything Wild Turkey, Maker's cask strength and for me the best daily....Weller Antique.Looking for a recommendation.

They probably needed that to get thru the Frosty era.on Neb football board ( page 5 ) there's a thread w/ 601 posts discussing Bourbon
I'm sure Frosty indulged in some tooThey probably needed that to get thru the Frosty era.
Prostitutes will spend a lot on bourbon? I would never have guessed that. You’re probably right about the price, I just don’t have enough passion for the hobby to spend much more.
Prostitutes however….
Frosty supposedly prefers Margs.I'm sure Frosty indulged in some too
Man chippy already
So, I guess this is the game thread then.... I missed the first minute and a half... did Samford have their short guy jump for them? Did Purdue have Edey go against the short guy?
