Why is this white nationalist president spending so much effort in erasing black history, removing DEI, restoring confederate statues, restoring confederate names of military bases, etc.? Spending more effort in this than improving our economy.

If the Black Smithsonian do not make any changes, I guess the executive order will not fund the museum.

I’ve been there. It’s a wonderful place to learn about black history. One of the most popular museums in the Smithsonian system. Even though black history is American history, y’all don’t want to know about it. I bet those of y’all that has been to DC since 2016 never bothered to go to this museum.

You racist Flavor Aiders defend this.

Question:
I assume you know who David Goggins is?
What's most impressive about David Goggins?

Never heard of him.

Navy Seal impresses me.

What does he have to do with the African American Museum of History and Culture and Chump’s changes?

He's the only person who has made it through Seal training, Army Ranger school and Air Force tactical training.
Pretty damn impressive person.
But, my question is, does his skin color matter?

Matters to me. As a black man I am very proud of his accomplishments. Thanks for making me aware of this dude.

But again I ask. What does this have to do with my topic?

George Washington, Teddy Roosevelt, Columbus and others were not confederate soldiers. As a student of history, you should know that.

I do know that. I wasn’t talking about them. But since you brought them up. Even though Washington owned 100s of slaves. I do not have high regards for him. I also have no regard for Columbus either. As a student of history I know that Columbus did not discover America like we were taught in elementary school. He wasn’t even the first European in America. Plus the man was a brutal mutilater and killer of the indigenous people that were already here. Still do not know why we have holidays, school, and cities named after him.

You would not be proud if he were, say, Native American?

Or a white man from a dysfunctional family?
Pride would not be the word. However, I would be interested in their stories. Just like Italians are proud of the aforementioned Christopher Columbus on Columbus Day.

You said Trump was restoring confederate statues. Which ones?
The traitorous statues that were throughout the Smithsonian museum system that were taken down during the Floyd riots. Chump already restored the traitorous name of Fort Bragg.

A different Bragg, an American hero.
Yeah. That was a backwards way of renaming the the base Fort Bragg. After all of the WW2 heroes, they had to pick the one that had the same name as the traitor. That is trolling at its best. Roland Bragg wasn’t even a general. Just a soldier that had the same last name. Give me a break. Y’all are a piece of work. Why not rename the base after General George S. Patton?

I love people that want us to remember history but only if it's history that they approve. We are the product of all that happened before us, whether good or bad. To deny that past history is to deny how we got to this point in time.

There is a difference between remembering negative history ( we should) and celebrating it (we should not).

Remember the impact of Bin Laden, Robert E Lee, Timothy McVeigh, or Jefferson Davis? Yes

Erecting a Timothy McVeigh or Robert E Lee statue in the town square? Hell no.

This is the governor your hero Joe Crow called 'boy'.

The point I'm making is that what David Goggins has accomplished is amazing. It's not any more or less amazing that he's a black man. That's irrelevant. He had to endure the same challenges everyone else did during that training and it didn't matter his skin color.
This is probably why the administration is de-emphasizing race as the major focus or components of one's accomplishments.

imagine the Twilight Zone where you are asked to pay for something you didn't do to those that were not recipients?

It may be irreverent to you and other white folks. But to black people his accomplishments means a lot mainly because of all of the atrocities blacks in America had to over come since the 1600s. That is why we have a Black History Month and museums to increase awareness these accomplishments for people to learn. The black inventors, black scientists, black military figures, etc. The average black person haven't even heard of some of these folks. If you been to Washington DC in recent years as a tourist I know you did not bother to go to the National Museum of African American History and Culture. If you and others go to DC, please visit this wonderful place. You may learn something.

For example, If it wasn't for events like Black History Month and others, most would never have heard of the black inventor, Lewis Latimore. Thomas Edison gets the credit for inventing the light bulb. But it was the work of Latimore inventing the more durable carbon filament that Edison used in the first light bulb. He also worked with Alexander Graham Bell on the telephone.

The administration is de-emphasizing race because they are racist and white supremacists. Plain and simple. No matter how look slice this. This is not a good look for America.
