I just watched about 45 minutes of High Point highlights so I’m clearly now an expert on them. A few thoughts…..

  • They struggle defensively, especially when their 7 footer Bodo Bodo is out.
  • Speaking of Bodo Bodo. He’s a good shot blocker and offensive rebounder but only plays about 21 minutes per game
  • When he is out, they like to play 5 out and do a lot of back screens and slip screens and cut to the rim. Need to be cognizant of that
  • Giffa is their leader and a tough shot maker. Need to keep from getting downhill and going to his left
  • Pettiford is fearless and a microwave
  • Looks like they are almost exclusively a man to man team defensively

You forgot to mention that you stayed at a "Holiday INN"!

High Point has many players that played high major basketball, they will not be scared to play PU. Pettiford was a 5 star out of HS. Smith and TKR will be 2 best players on the court Thursday, but all on court for HP are at or better than our rest of players talent level. We will have to play our best to win and should win, but those thinking this is walk in park, you are way off.

I can't imagine any true PU fan would consider any tournament game a "walk in the park"!!

We're only favored by 8.5 so Vegas doesn't think it's a walk either...

FD started at 9.5 and has gone down to 8.5. I have seen others at 8 like you did. Money is going on HP. Not surprising at all. Take out last years run and you can see why a lot of people would pick PU as getting upset or at the very least take the points.

So, TKR has a 30-12 game. He does a ZE and gets us at the charity stripe early and often.

I keep seeing 4* star ratings. I'm not saying he isn't good, but we see this talent all the time.

We play within our game and we handle business. I could be completely wrong. I feel we win this by double digits.

Purdue fans probably felt the exact same against Little Rock, North Texas, Fairleigh Dickinson, Saint Peters... Crazy things happen when you overlook a team.

I'll take the bait.

It's like IU fans that want to be a part of the tournament or get any kind of chance at getting a tournament victory.....you come here.

Nope. Just a college basketball fan in general. And Purdue has a history the past decade of losing to double digit seeds. Last ten tourneys...

2014- missed
2015- lost to 8 seed Cincy
2016- lost to 12 Little Rock
2017- lost to 1 seed Kansas
2018- lost to 3 seed Texas Tech
2019- lost to 1 seed Virginia(superb 3 year stretch)
2021- lost to 13 North Texas
2022- lost to 15 Saint Peters(S16)
2023- lost to 16 Fairleigh Dickinson
2024- lost to 1 UConn(title game)

So? At least we consistently get there where indinia is nothing more than a bobby knight fart from the past at this point.

You're not a college basketball fan in general. You're an IU fan, that makes you "special". Once again, coming here instead of spending time on your own site.

Also lost to 3 #1 seeds , a 3 seed and an 8. I’d venture to say of the losses, two were terrible, the 12 and even 13 were not good but more tolerable than the 15, 16 losses.
We’ve been in consistently an a 4 seed or better for 8 years running. Next closest string is 4…

I never said anything bad about Purdue. But overlooking a 13 seed with what's happened since 2021... Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. And clearly the fans and team overlooked North Texas, Saint Peters and FDU. It's been a great, but weird, 5 year stretch now for Purdue.

This is a tourney experienced team and will prove the monkey is off our back in the first round. We don't lose to HP. After that, your guess is as good as mine. Rubber meets the road after the first round and I can see us getting blown out in the second round or winning and getting to Indy where anything could happen. The only thing that would surprise me is losing to HP.

The team is not overlooking anyone. Please be less retarded.

Lol

IU-20 years, 10 wins in the tournament with 9 appearances.

Purdue-20 years, 23 wins(doesn't include this tourney) with 16 appearances.

What are we talking about about here. You and your team suck!

See you are the problem. Nobody overlooked them. Just because you lose a game doesn't mean you overlooked them. Sometimes you don't shoot very well or the refs let a team hug your nba guard or break your center's elbow. Purdue has some crazy statistic of being a top 4 seed for like 8 years. They are probably the most consistent team in the country over the last decade. Your ignorance is not welcome.

Cool story bro. Not sure what Indiana has to do with it or why your feelings are hurt by facts.

I'm sorry you don't like facts. If it was once, we could call it an outlier. But it's been 3 of the last 4 years.

I stated facts....bud.

You guys have sucked for a very long time. Nothing but the truth.
I'm confused as to what anything I said has to do with Indiana? I'm not going to disagree that Indiana hasn't been good. That's why Woody is out. But what did my original post have to do with Indiana? Why are you mad at me for stating facts? Why are you upset about me stating that Purdue shouldn't overlook High Point?

So, you are confused by the numbers? Or the facts of the numbers?

Not good....haha. You guys have sucked. Exactly, why your looking for your next coach....again....and again.
