My wife (31), daughter (1 year old) and I (34) just moved to Lafayette (I posted a thread about where to live about a year ago when we were looking for a house). I was looking for opinions on what to get involved in around the area. I'm a Purdue grad (obviously with my handle) so we'll be doing stuff with the university but we want to get involved with the community as well. We're still getting settled so we may not be that active right now but what do people enjoy in the area?
I know I want to get involved with our neighborhood association (Highland Park) and go to events like the Christmas Parade and Lafayette Symphony Orchestra. I also would like to speak with some people with the Lafayette Economic Development Council and volunteer for some of the boards for Lafayette/Tippecanoe.
We have many interests so I don't think any suggestions wouldn't be relevant.
