My in-laws are celebrating their 40th anniversary in Sept, they live in Rensselaer, any ideas of good banquet halls around West Lafayette that would be good for this type of thing. I appreciate this, it’s a big deal to me.

Find out if and what the in-laws want for a celebration. When I turned 60 my family had a surprise party that lasted well into the night. Two years later, my wife forbade any kind of birthday celebration when she turned 60. She doesn't like celebrations. Last month we celebrated our 50th. We went out for a nice meal. I would have liked at least a small family party but it didn't happen.

Kim surprised me on my 60th. My sisters, children and a few co-workers showed up. It was a big surprise with my daughter who came from Maryland. Kim took me somewhere and when I came home I knew something was up. My lane is 650 feet off the road and many cars were parked along it Then when I quit work in June of 2022 she threw another party since the pole barn was new, large and clean. I think we had close to 40 people or so. She spent some time at work planning events. On her 60th we were in Italy this last October. I enjoyed seeing my family and wished I could take them to Italy, but I know that is not in the cards...and nobody other than a daughter has a passport.

Yea, the wife, baby and I live about 45 minutes North of them, the wife wants to have it more their way, problem is there’s likely a lot more places our way, I’m hoping West Lafayette has some recommended spots.
