I don't disagree about the mobility thing, and I'm sure the coaches don't either.
Which is why AO must flat out throw the ball better.
Or it wouldn't be a competition. ??

AO? He may have the most accurate arm we’ve had since brees

I have always felt that Purdue can win with either guy as the starter.

Plummer obviously has a mobility advantage but it’s not game changing mobility.

O’Connell imo makes quicker and better decisions. And something that is hard to measure I feel like O’Connell has had a lot of clutch to him during pressure situations.

The competition between them has been close and with O’Connell missing spring ball and the last half of last year I expect it to remain close. I have liked the look of O’Connell over Plummer the last two years but with his injury last year It wouldn’t shock me to see Plummer take a step forward.

Either way it goes down I believe Purdue will be just fine at qb.

I think Purdue can be fine with either QB but one of them needs to be taking the lion's share of the 1st team reps ASAP.

Sat scrimmage will probably lead to that.

What is the paid content saying about Burton and Alaimo, if anything?

My Capt. Obvious comment...but one that often gets overlooked -- An improved OL would make *both* QBs better.

The coaches have been saying that about him for 3 years and its' hard to argue with that WHEN HE HAS TIME.
Either guy would be (will be?) vastly improved with some more time before he has to unload.
A running game would be help as well and of course that starts up front too.
We go as far as the OL takes us. Thankfully there's some reason for a degree of optimism.
(usual disclaimers as per staying healthy, etc)

Your comment raises an interesting question. Is Brohm waiting to see how the OL comes together in camp as a factor into which QB he selects as starter?

Agreed. Improved o-line and commitment to having a running game that at least has to be respected.

Anyone been able to get to practice?
Would like to hear some first hand QB assessments. Very interested to hear about Burton.

Is this a clue to the next Quarterback? Jack Plummer has been named to the watch list for the 2021 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
