QB battle only beginning for Boilers

Heads up and fair warning: I will be giving a full throated Children-of-the-Corn "MALICHIIIIII!" when he's on the field.

It will be interesting to watch and see who claims the starter’s spot. I kind of like the QB from the Florida school rather than the favorite!

I don't want a QB battle. I would much rather have a clear number 1 and roll out. QB battle is just another way to say "taking Ls".

I’d like to see a battle in the spring and then declare a winner and go for it. Switching QBs in mid season is never a good thing.

I would have hated to be Ewers knowing one mistake and he could be replaced by Arch. He decided to leave early. Texans probably blamed him for losing to OSU and denying them their national title that surely Arch would have delivered.

I always thought Michigan platooning Brady with that other qb was stupid

Overall, I’m a Singleton guy. Went to my high school and the friends I have still in the community and one that was a football adjacent coach at the school while he was there have nothing but great things to say about him as a kid, QB, athlete, etc.

I’m a homer so I hope it’s him.

Hopefully unlike some times in Purdue’s past I hope we play the most capable guy!

You have to wonder how much NIL is influencing who the coach starts and ultimately plays???

Feel like that had to be the only reason they played Card over Browne at the end of last year.

Maybe that and the staff wanted to try and keep Browne under the radar so that he didn’t get poached going into 2025.

All that is moot now.

The point stands…I think guys getting big money (relative to their teams payroll) will get every chance to play and succeed.
