Sorry to hear that. One of the benefits of living in the South is I never have to deal with iu fans. I know a couple of iu grads here but they are nice and dont ever talk college ball. I have, however seen some messed up rivalry stuff here. One weird example is this one family (USC) that never allows the color orange in their house (Clemson). That's right, their kids have never had carrots, oranges, orange juice, etc in their home. Takes all kinds.

Simple answer. None of those schools you listed has a rival that sucks.
I'm sure everyone here can think of things that the IU fanbase has done that far exceeds the stupidity of the "IU sucks" chant. How about the fan who rushed at E'twaun Moore while he was shooting near the sideline when the Baby Boilers played in Assembly Hall. And the vile things they were calling Chris Kramer's mother, who was sitting in the stands in Assembly Hall. And the games where they were losing, so they decided to throw things at opposing players. And the time that the IU administration issued a public apology because their fans were chanting racist remarks at an opposing player. And the IU fans who sit in the stands of a high school game heckling and booing a player who committed to Purdue. How about when the fans had written plans to make fun of Isaac Haas' sister because of her disability?
Yeah, IU sucks. And not just the way the basketball team plays.
Eff that. Let IU wallow in mediocrity (or worse) for years. IU being down only helps Purdue.
Hey it might be somewhat classless but that's why it's appropriate. There is no more of a classless fan base the country than the A$$HALL bunch. Having put up with their moronic entitled crap for over 60 years I will continue to say loudly that IU SUCKS!!!
As I recall that got put in during the Cordova years as kind of a one-off joke. The admin got so urinated off about it (and the Cordova admin was NOT popular) the Paint Crew just kept doing it out of spite.

I thought the legend was that they did it at the end of that song to try to quit the band to stop playing that song. The band never stopped playing it and for some reason enough fans thought it was worthwhile to keep doing.
That is true but to be fair that can change rapidly. If No solid PG signs for 2019 then suddenly we have a similar situation at that position.
The Hoosiers will be better next year but young. They will have growing pains. So will we. Do we get Carried through it better by Carsen, Haarms, Cline, and Nojel along side our redshirts, rookies, and other vets? Probably but we shall see.

This is what I was told. They thought it was offensive enough to get the galloping song banished, but as it turned out, it only rustles the jimmies of the IU fans. I think it’s hilarious that IU fans feel it was directed at them. But of course, everything is about IU in their minds.

I'm wondering if IU fans would have preferred Holtman after the way things have played out for both coaches. I was afraid IU would get Holtman. I guess time will tell!

1. Why do you think IU has a better shot at a national title than Vandy next year? Look at who Vandy brings in next year. Look at the IU roster and how they have played this year. Now look at next year with the addition existing commits and adding Romeo to these two teams. Vandy has as good a shot as IU next year for the title. We no longer live in the 1980's.
2. The IU sucks chant. I don't care for it nor do I boo players. But I really don't care if others do as long as it isn't vile or repulsive chants (e.g. making fun of a players ethnicity or family members). I chuckle a bit at the fervor with which it is yelled at a basketball game - which happens once a game. I roll my eyes as it is repeatedly yelled during football games which seems like every kick-off. And to answer your earlier question, of course if Purdue were losing 90-50 to IU the crowd would still yell it. Look, I understand the chant is not about the specific game being played; it is about the entire University and is meant to get under IU fan's skin. I understand you indicate is most certainly does not get under your skin, but 5+ posts on the very topic make me think otherwise.
