They're all one-year deals these days.I wonder if he signed a one year deal or a three year contract?
Was Card our Bledsoe then?So we get to watch him become Tom Brady..?
Wait until private equity gets involved and things will really explode. They're all one-year deals these days.
I always felt like Brady turned Brady into Brady, and Belichick was just along for the ride and got far too much credit. But I am admittedly biased as I was solid Colts fan during the 2000s.If Belichick turns Browne into the next Brady, at least we'll be able to complain that we knew he should have been starting over Card when he was at Purdue.
100% agree. Belichick didn’t develop Brady.I always felt like Brady turned Brady into Brady, and Belichick was just along for the ride and got far too much credit. But I am admittedly biased as I was solid Colts fan during the 2000s.
Didn’t like the Patriots, but always wanted our many Purdue alums who were playing for them back then to do well as individual players.
Tampa Tom's Super Bowl and the fact Bill did nothing without Brady has lead me to lean this way a bit for sure.I always felt like Brady turned Brady into Brady, and Belichick was just along for the ride and got far too much credit. I said 5 years ago that when Brady and Belichick eventually parted ways, we would then find out the secret to “The Patriot Way.”Tampa Tom's Super Bowl and the fact Bill did nothing without Brady has lead me to lean this way a bit for sure.
At least his girlfriend can now meet more friends her own age, so that should be good for her.I think this experiment with ole Bill has a far greater chance of failing than being successful.

more like Brady QuinnSo we get to watch him become Tom Brady..?
You mean he’s going to become a 1st Round pick after winning the Maxwell, Unitas, Baugh, & every other award for quarterbacks? Yeah, that sounds about right…more like Brady Quinn
Only to be followed by Jimmy "Four Heismans" Clausen. You mean he’s going to become a 1st Round pick after winning the Maxwell, Unitas, Baugh, & every other award for quarterbacks? Yeah, that sounds about right…
You mean an All-American and 2nd Round pick? Too bad Purdue can’t get back-to-back quarterbacks like that…Only to be followed by Jimmy "Four Heismans" Clausen.
Who says Purdue can't?You mean an All-American and 2nd Round pick? Too bad Purdue can’t get back-to-back quarterbacks like that…

Well, history says.Who says Purdue can't?
And, let's not rewrite Clausen's career just to spite the current state of Purdue football. Clausen got an enormous amount of hype everywhere he went, but Curtis Painter had a better college career and comparable pro career.
Browne will be recruited over immediately by much better QBs.Browne will be a good QB. They will correct his throwing flaws and his athleticism will shine. Problem was is he never got a chance in real games. Obviously he did in practices but I thought he could become really good if given the opportunity
Yeah he’s pretty much the opposite of what Belichick wants in a QB.Browne will be recruited over immediately by much better QBs.
OK, so Clausen was a collasal professional bust. The dude still never came close to living up to the hype that surrounded him.Well, history says.
And Painter was great (against bad teams) but one was a 2nd Team All-American and Top 50 draft pick and one wasn’t…
Pro results don’t matter in college. If they do, we basically have to return our 2000 B1G Championships.OK, so Clausen was a collasal professional bust. The dude still never came close to living up to the hype that surrounded him.
I stand by what I said earlier, his career in both college and professional football was comparable to Curtis Painter, Purdue's quarterback in the same era. That comparison isn't meant to denigrate either player. But it's crazy to paint Clawsen as some great quarterback while saying Painter was just good against bad teams.
Oh, I'm old enough to remember. If we're focusing on college, ND went 16-21 during Clausen's three seasons. Purdue went 25-25 during Painter's four. Neither player started every game, but both started most. Results matter. I also know one of those guys had better talent around him than the other.Pro results don’t matter in college. If they do, we basically have to return our 2000 B1G Championships.
Also, maybe you’re not old enough to remember that this entire board would complain that you knew how Painter was going to do before the game started. Bottom line is that Clausen, while not a Heisman winner, was an All-American in college and thought highly enough of that he was picked in the Top 50. Anything after that doesn’t matter regarding college…
