There's one problem with these numbers......Morgan State.

The Rutgers vs. Morgan State game resulted in Rutgers winning 65-0. Morgan State is bad. Really. Really. Really. Bad. Bad even by Div-2 standards. Their one win this season is against winless Savannah State.

Take the 65-0 stats out of the equation and Rutgers PPG drops from 24 (81st nationally) to 15.8 (125th). Their defense PPG rises from 25.5 (62nd nationally) to 30.6 (92nd). They put up 326 yards of rushing in that game. That is close to a third of their total yards (1044) for the entire season in one game.

While I understand that you can cherry pick stats to make your argument one way or another (for example, our numbers suffer a bit if you take out the Missouri game stats), that Morgan State game really makes a big difference in this comparison.

Morgan State didn't score a single point until its 4th game this year, a 49-17 loss to North Carolina A&T. Yikes. Even Mizzou would curb stomp those guys.

These stats are conclusive proof that if we don't make it on 3rd down that we need to go for it on 4th down - well maybe not if we are within our own 20. However, we make 3rd down only 33% of the time and Rutgers allows only 31% of the time. Likewise, we make it 78% of the time on 4th down and Rutgers allows it 88% of the time. If we follow the stats, we will win 56-10! That is my prediction.
