This is chance for your Boilers to get a couple RPI-boosting wins. No one else in this Tournament, outside of Purdue, is great. Florida lost its head coach, multiple early NBA jumpers, a productive transfer, and any chance at an elite recruit in the offseason. It's kind of like a popular champion boxer facing set-ups so he can keep his belt. Purdue is the champion in this case. They just have to take care of business. Luckily, Raph, the greatest leader in college basketball without even a close 2nd, is quoted as saying this trip is "All business".

Our guards should get a good test today. The Old Dominion guards are pretty good & experienced. Should be fun. Glad we're not at Old Dominion, they're tough at home. Their speed & transition game may present problems for us initially? This is where the pre season conditioning comes in handy. They may try to make it a track meet/transition game? Our guards/team better be ready. Just may find out how deep our guards/guard play is today? This may be a good game/time to jam the ball into the post as much as we can, without forcing it/too many turnovers. The post game guard stats will be most interesting, for both teams.

Go Boilers!!!

Update from Iowa City:

Purdue down two TD's to the most hated rival.....in all white......and getting snowed under so far.

well luckily they have not been able to do anything in transition. kind of an ugly half. Happy to be ahead at this point.

You know, I don't mind this start... The shooters fired up quite a few 3's and they weren't falling. So we started pounding the ball in the paint... Shows some maturity... I would think we'll see the same type of start in the 2nd

Someone give me first half analysis been watching the football game

Been sloppy as others have said.....Hammons has come on well.....ODU has tried to penetrate....hasn't worked much. Boilers have missed some good transition opportunities, but they have played pretty decently on the defensive end.

low scoring half

50% shooting

barely winning the boards battle

looks like we need to get a few guys going............watching the game tracker only:(

AJH has been a bright spot. CS has had a tough half, and not good shooting so far, Pit. Announcers have been fairly complimentary of Purdue and CMP.

We should easily be up by 20. Vince having a bad half and Caleb turning it over and taking a couple bad shots. If we get it together in 2nd half we should pull away.

Also, the curse of the dreaded "floater" has arisen......need an exorcism/intervention or something.

Biggie having an off game.
Missed a rebound on a free throw that should've been his, but he was headed to the other end.

Gave ODU an extra possession.

Wonder if he is feeling well as he doesn't look himself.

Reminds me of the Cinci tourney game. Missing lots of wide open looks from 3.
We really miss a PG who can break a team down off the dribble.

Terrible shot selection. We had a chance to put them away. Caleb is not looking good. Leave him on the bench for a while.

Excellent run by KS. Now we just need to lock down on D and take good shots and we'll put this away.
