Purdue vs. Nebraska 2: Predictions & Game Thread

Would like to see the Boilers play a complete game on the road....it's been a mixed bag with some really good stretches and then some not-so-good stretches. To the Boilers' credit, they've gutted out a couple of OT wins and the recent last-second win in Bloomington.

Grady Eifert had a big game the last time these two teams played.....Purdue might need more of that, especially if Carsen Edwards struggles again. Nebraska has been better defensively at home.....the Boilers will need a better shooting night and solid play from Nojel Eastern, Ryan Cline, and Matt Haarms. If they can do that, and limit the turnovers, I like their chances. Big Tre Williams' effectiveness will also help.

An interesting sidelight from Hammer & Rails:

"This game carries some significance for Purdue juniors Carsen Edwards and Tommy Luce. They can complete their own Delaney Dozen by winning in all 14 Big Ten arenas with a victory on Saturday, joining last year’s departed seniors, Jacquil Taylor, Ryan Cline, Grady Eifert, and Iowa’s Peter Jok in that club. Cline and Eifert also now have 102 wins in their careers, and they need five more to tie the school record for most in a class (2011)."

Boiler Up, my friends.

So I’m at IU for a Model UN Conference and this is the first time I’ve really had a chance to be on campus at IU...I know why people love the campus. It pains me to say it is beautifully built and Purdue doesn’t really compare...but give me the ease of access Purdue offers with the condensed campus during the cold and wet days. The new renovations and newer buildings have brought Purdue up a considerable notch though.

Purdue's offensive efficiency is largely because of our ability to take care of the ball and have low turnovers.

Last year, we weren't the greatest with turnovers, so that efficiency was more with regard to shooting

I'd like to see Purdue become a bit more efficient with its shooting. Purdue is rebounding well and not turning the ball over. When we do that, the only thing hurting ourselves....is our decision making. While Carsen certainly has had the spotlight on that topic, everyone can be a part of that improvement.

Purdue's weaknesses are largely things they can control, which is why I am very optimistic on this team. However, I'm a bit hesitant because I haven't seen those "controllable" things improve lately.

Would be nice to see a nice business like approach to the game today. Going in there to walk out with a win, not trying to make a point, get pissed about the crowd, etc. Just be ice cold killers - just like outside!

Better shot needed and limit the turnovers. I think we will see better team execution and Carsen rebounds in a big way too today.

Coming off a less than stellar performance last game, I'm hoping this is not the trap game we've been worried about. Miles fighting for his job, assistants fighting for their job, players playing for their scholarships......it worries me a bit. That said, PU wins by one on a last second shot.

I don't know what to expect. I've been waiting while thinking it is only a temporary slump but nothing seems to change. Some of our players keep doing the same stupid mistakes. It may not change since Painter seems to tolerate Carsen's poor decision-making.

With the time change, what channel will the game be on?
Game starts at 2:12. It is on BTN, but not until PSU and Illinois finishes. They said you can use the Fox Sports App to see it in its entirely, if the PSU and Illinois is not done by 2:12. Who uses that app?

And the Illini have closed the gap to 5 with 6+ left.....it's getting physical......big surprise.

All in the eye of the beholder. I believe Purdue has the better model for getting students to and from classes. And let's not forget the quality of education!

btn2go.com feed is now live. No extra cost; just need to enter your cable/streaming logins. FoxSportsGo app & FoxSportsGo.com are the same situation.

For goodness sakes. Why even have two or three Big Ten Network channels if you're not going to us them?
