Smith's legs could be gone. TKR may score 30 but we can't win with the current system. Our guys look totally defeated. Colvin and Heide have hit some shots but not really getting many opportunities. We win one next weekend and that may be it if we don't get our act together.
Purdue sure does hate playing in March tournaments.
Our defense has sucked for months. They said last night we are DEAD LAST IN THE COUNTRY in opponent 2 pt field goal %... Dead. Last.
And our offense sucks now too. Oh well, you could see this coming during the big losing streak. Something just wasnt right.
Atleast when we lose in 1st round or if we get lucky in the 2nd we wont be caught off guard.
Painter better go get a go to off the dribble scoring guard in the portal if we want thia team to have a deep run next year, but we all know he wont... he just doesnt like those types

Every single mid major in the mcaa tourney every year has atleast 1... so no, they arent if you are willing to get ones that are 6'1 and shorter
To his defense. Smith does not look like the guy you depend on getting you points. We needed points the last 2 nights and he hasn't given us squat. What more do you want to see.
Remind me who we had in 2019... wasnt that the 1 time painter had an elite scoring guard and a defensive rim running shot blocking light on his feet center? Oh ok.

I was completely wrong about Smith coming to play tonight. He's a fragile player right now. We need another guard to come-in. This is to much for Smith to handle.
This team is flat out terrible. I haven't been an overly emotional fan all season until tonight. I am so sick of Ball hog Braden out there tonight. The offense has been absolutely horrific. Furst is offers nothing on offense (as all season) and is a failure to develop since his freshman year. TKR can't dominate against 7 footers and Braden can't out maneuver their long guards. RUN SOMETHING FOR COLVIN OR HEIDE! Because ball hog Braden aint giving it to no one except TKR unless he is explicitly told to!
I just want to go back to Furst for a second. Will f'ing Cheddar hit a 3 tonight! Furst hasn't hit a meaningful 3 in 2.5 years. What a failed development of a college career. Yeah he helped us win against the mid and lower tier teams this year but against meaningful competition he kills our spacing and offers no rim protection. yes yes yes this is nothing new but I am tired from a hard week and have been putting back a lot Modelo's tonight so its my rant for the season.
Even if Painter gets help to support rim protection and rebounding in the portal, this crap PnR exclusive offense isn't going to win sh*t next year.

Smith is short 2/3 of the time on shots - just no lift - Boilers had a shot to get it to six or seven......oh well, might be Waterloo time.
