We are getting closer to game time. Enough talk. Who win and by how much?

Michigan redux ... we go off on their bigs and play D like they've not seen. 78-58

Purdue 78 ALR 64......

Purdue plays like a Big Ten team with energy and aggressiveness on both ends of the floor and we win.

Close and sloppy in first 10 minutes, but then our depth and size take over.....

Boiler Up!

I think it will be a close game for a while but Purdue pulls away as the game goes on. Purdue wins 75-55

UALR will do their best Butler impression but don't have enough up front to compete on the boards. 76-64 Purdue.

Rebounding is mostly effort...our guys need to crash the boards big time and it should give us a massive advantage. We're just not gonna kill them on the boards by standing up straight and being taller than them!

81-60 Boilers
Painter has the team focused on ALR.
The Bigs lay devastation, guards hit some 3s, build a big early lead and coast. IL game all over again.

I see this game playing out similarly to the Siena game of 2010 (minus the injury drama).

I don't necessarily think Purdue will jump out to a commanding early lead. Little Rock appears to be capable of throwing sticks into the Boilers' spokes --- at least for a while.

But I won't be surprised if Purdue seizes control in the first 8-10 minutes of the second half and holds Little Rock at arms length the rest of the way.

72-59 Boilers

I think VE has the capability to win this game on his own. I don't see them stopping him from getting to the rim at will. He has to be aggressive.

We start Mckeeman, Toyra, Eifert, Taylor, and AJ to give them a sporting chance and still win by 20. 88-68

Hammons, Haas, and Biggie combine for 40 points and 25 rebounds while Edwards, Cline, and Mathias exploit the collapsing defense by combining for 10 three's. Purdue is able to rest their starters for the last 6 minutes of the game and get Stephens and Taylor extended time in a tourney game.

This goes without saying, but the longer you let a team stick around, the more dangerous it becomes. I think Purdue needs to maintain a lead - don't want to dig yourself an early hole.

Closer than we would like...but dominant front line allows Purdue to pull away. Purdue 68 Arkansas Little Rock 60.
