That’s what we wanted right? This tournament has been awful. Hopefully a wake up call when they return to the States.

Boiler up tomorrow!

Lol. You just better hope we keep it within 15-20 points. We are looking at 3 game losing streak and probably losing to Maryland and Louisville. At least. The amount of toughness and will that was lost with Swanigan is insane.

Purdue is gonna be riding a 3 game losing streak after tomorrow. You better just face it.

I have a hard time believing that Ayton isn’t going to wreak havoc on Haarms and Haas. He’s as big and 5x as athletic as Haas and stronger than Haarms. If we turn it over 13x or less and hit 10-14 threes we will win, if we turn it over more or hit less threes we will lose because our inside game will most likely be non-existent.

Teams can go through slumps, unfortunately I don't see it as the case. We have flaws , guards can't get open unless playing Montana St types. This is Purdue we will peak in bt play and lay a turd in the ncaa. LOL who would have looked at this bracket and said Purdue vs Arizona for the last place finish. Let that sink in, this isn't an NIT team as I've saw some post tho. COME ON

However everybody will forget these losses but a win over Arizona. Oh no they wont'

Would you opinion of this team change with a win?

No. Only a naive Guy's opinion would. Everyone's opinion of Arizona changed after they lost to NC State and SMU by 6 points each. Maybe this dark gym is messing with their heads. Purdue would have to go on a long wing streak after this tournament to change my opinion.

I have been a die hard Purdue fan for too long. Time to spend my time on other things. I'm 34 years old and I think I could walk on to the Purdue team. Up for the challenge. I have hustle and determination. If noone else can make a shot I will we except the double team and still score. I want to be an assistant coach. I know I can get these guys to play to their talent lebel.

If you had told me before the tournament, Purdue would play Arizona in the final game, I'd have thought "All right....two good wins and in the Championship."

Then, if you had told me.....no, it's for 7th place, I would have said "Whatttt?"

That's where it is now.....you never know. Still hoping this team can right the ship, as it's been a disaster of a trip.

I hate to say it, but Arizona's bigs are going to destroy us. This will be ugly.

My thoughts on Purdue basketball have never changes so quickly. I was so high on this team just a few days ago. I now feel bad for making fun of IU.

Yes, teams go into slumps. Look at both the LA Dodgers and Astros. Both went into slumps. The Dodgers had a horrible slump but look how that turned out. The season does not end in November!

Are we gonna watch the team jack 3s and not rebound and have unforced turnovers and walkons play and in general not play hard until the last panicked few minutes? i cant remember the last time i didnt watch purdue play a ranked team...but im seriously considering not ruining 2 hours of my evening.

I would not make fun of IU because they are pointing up why Purdue is pointing down. Archie Miller will start getting his fair share of talented players here in Indiana and that will make a world of a difference watch and see. Next year Purdue will really be sad while Indiana will be trending upwards. You better get a new coach in here as soon as possible before it gets too out of hand and were left in the Dust by Indiana because I see this happening

Man, I am sure Arizona will come alive just in time to beat us today. I am not hopeful at this point that we are going to get the W against Arizona. I hate the venue in the Bahamas - isn't it just a glorified ballroom? Maybe that is messing with us - not sure. Still can't believe the way we lost to Tennessee. It's all too familiar. I thought we had turned a corner as a team and as a coaching staff when we beat Marquette pretty convincingly and then Wednesday and Thursday happened and we are back to reality! Not ready to give up on the season just yet, but expectations are almost back to where we should just be happy making the tournament.

at the end of the week, one of two teams - Purdue or Arizona will go home with three losses. before ten games are played, one of these two teams will have 3 losses. one of those teams has 4 seniors. The other is starting freshmen. one of those two teams will bounce back and use that game as a springboard to their season. I doubt the other one will. When was the last year Purdue went into BIG 10 conference play with 3 losses? And how did that year turn out? let that set in.

I know the season is young, but many of us have seen the exact same mistakes and results from these same players, coach and team for the last 3 years. and for the doubters among us, this team hasn't changed and hasn't learned from those mistakes.

One could say, last year Purdue was Biggie and the JETs. Four players took a secondary role to help Biggie pad his stats. and Biggie did a lot of things to cover their deficiencies. In an interview last year Haas admitted he allowed Biggie to get the rebound sometimes. In a team game, we are now seeing 5 guys trying to assert themselves as the team leader and hero to take Biggie's place. While that is admirable the y want to take his place, they are forgetting this is a team game and the things he did to be their leader. Like Brian Cardinal, he hustled and worked his butt off. Rather than touching a rebound, he grabbed it. And when he missed his shot, he followed through and put it in. There was a reason Haas and Biggie didn't play much together last year. And we are realizing that today. Purdue is one of the most " experienced" teams in college basketball . and with the WUG, we should be in mid-season form and ahead of every other team. And now instead of being in mid-season form, we are facing an overhaul, and fresh start. I didn't expect us to be a top 10 team. However, I did expect us to be a team, and make adjustments, and play defense. There is a reason we lost the last two games. it's called lack of hustle and poor on-the-court decision making. We got too cocky. I have seen this same play almost every time we approach a top 10-15 rating. We lay an egg.

I wish that Purdue would prove us doubters wrong. But after yesterday's game, those doubts and skepticism have returned .

Now this is what an opinion is boiler1973. I can accept this response than what that other poster is saying. You on point hopefully adjustments will be made. Hopefully he utilize his bench more

2014-2015 season (8-5), when the current seniors were frosh. The team played well down the stretch and made the NCAA tournament, losing to Cincinnati in the opening round in a game with similarities to the recent Tennessee game. The next game according to the bracket would have been then-undefeated Kentucky.

There's a reason after 1563 posts you have only 3 likes, you know.....Troll.

Even if we beat Arizona it's not going to be a quality win cuz apparently they suck too

Absolutely Arizona sucks... lol! That's why they are ranked #2-tic! And that's why I'm reading from Sportscasters today that the battle for tournament places 7&8 tonight might be the best game of the tournament ironically. But then most of them are far more objective than Boilmakerfans' bruised egos are right now. Yes, I'm disappointed. But I have no doubt we will see some great basketball from this team this year....And when that happens I am also sure all these histrionic fair weather fans will come running back...But in your case Boilerman1973 your trolling little soul will disappear from the Board.

To the point:
"1. The most interesting game is for the worst prize of the day: 7th place. Purdue and Arizona have taken the plunge at Atlantis and are trying to avoid leaving the Bahamas with an 0-3 finish. But fear not Arizona and Purdue fans, an elite team has gone through something similar before and fared well. Wichita State, without Fred VanVleet, went 0-3 in Orlando in 2015-16. The Shockers still ended up as an 11 seed, won a First Four game, beat Arizona in the round of 64 before losing to Miami in the round of 32. Purdue ran into an upstart Tennessee team on day one, but then got stunned by Western Kentucky on day two. Arizona’s loss to SMU on day two is actually more explainable (the Mustangs will be, repeat will be, a top five contender in the American) than the defeat to NC State in round one. Of course, Arizona and Purdue have a lot more opportunities for quality wins than the Wichita State team did from two seasons ago. So, there’s that." (Andy Katz)

You won't be seeing great bb from this team unless they play harder and for one guy smarter!

Totally agree. But I go farther and say there’s more than one guy that needs to play smarter. I don’t recognize this team I’ve seen it the Bahamas. Everyone needs to step up his game.

conditioning will be a big factor in the outcome. both teams playing 3rd game in 4 nights. legs will be an issue. who wants it more?
