Purdue to play Kentucky in an exhibition game at Rupp Arena

Okay I'll break it down once.

Indiana travels to Lexington in December.

Indiana coach Darian DeVries cleaned house. Both roster and staff, even including long standing Dr. Tim Garl. So Indiana has brought in 10 portal transfers and 1 freshman(so far). Hope it helps you.

I put their records last year before there names. What would concern me as IU fan is there are a ton of low-mid major guys who have not had any experience winning at those levels, let alone the B1G.

Devries should be a stud. We'll see if Conerway can translate up a couple levels. For the rest of the guys, stats are just stats when you are losing IMO. I know everyone will point to Tonje, Florida gaurds, and those portal success stories, but going this heavy on this many mids with losing pedigree is risky IMO. We'll see.....
Indiana's situation is interesting and will no doubt attract plenty of national attention next season. Darian DeVries will be the Dusty May of '26 if he molds this new roster into a contender. But this total portal restock strategy could become more of a cautionary tale if Indiana straddles .500 in the B1G again and has to sweat out another Selection Sunday. We'll see how it goes.

Not to be Mr. Obvious, but the good thing about Purdue's situation is that Painter didn't need game changers. He just had to find a couple productive contributers who would mesh well with the rest of the team. I trust he accomplished that, but again, we'll see next year.

And those #s are meaningless, played by a bunch mid tier players with no NCAA Tournament experience, no big ten experience, most of them can't tell you what winning is let alone how to win. The construction of this squad is very questionable. Don't like three players have injury issues. By the way I Saw where Sisley was rated closer to 150.

Sisley is 61st on ESPN, 66th on the 247Sports composite and 91st on Rivals.

I've watched Bailey and Miles, both are good teammates Miles is a high-flying rebounding machine, and Bailey is a play hard big. Different make up vs Woodson signing high ranking players more of me first types. Woodson had good success IMO just not good enough he was simply too old for the job.

Talent and a coach helps. Not sure what it's got to do with Purdue vs Kentucky though. Weird for Indiana to be on the mind all the time for some.

Stop.
Talking.
About.
Indinia.
All.
The.
Time.

And don’t tell me it’s due to others bringing them up. I already showed you once how much you bring them up for no reason and I can do it again.

Maybe didn't mention Indiana in every thread lol. That's much more weird. Especially in a PU-UK thread. We get a glimpse of two top 5 teams at the end of October. That's "Midnight Madness" season even. Kentucky is bringing in 8 new guys. It'll be building chemistry vs chemistry established.

The above talent last year for IU shot 382-1055 threes at a rate 36% which would put them at 50 to 60 ranking in NCAA. Purdue was #16 last year at 38.2% and added Murphy from North Florida who shot 104-246 (42%) should have Purdue well over 40% next year. Purdue also has a better High School recruits. Mayer coming in at #46 On3. Summary IU built a team from teams like Davidson(17-16), North Florida(15-17), DePaul (14-20), Sam Houston(13-19) and Elon(17-16). Don't take the bait on how great a 3point shooting team IU assembled, even with last years stats they wouldn't make it into the TOP 5 of BT. There is also one major thing to remember is that Purdues stats were against TOP 10 talent in the country, while most of IU's stats are the results of playing teams like Peter, Paul and Mary!

Pursue exhibition at Kentucky is very cool. Hopefully it leads to a real home and home down the road. Or maybe a couple games in Indy.
I do wonder if Kentucky would add anyone but I'd say it's dependent on another replacing another team. For next season they already play Michigan State, Gonzaga, St. Johns, Indiana and Louisville in the non conference. Plus an ACC team for the ACC/SEC challenge(probably Duke or UNC). MSU, Gonzaga, St. Johns are all neutral games. They go to Louisville this year and in Lexington against IU. They played an away game for ESPN Lovefest Challenge last year, so probably another home game this year. I think the only openings would be them not continuing series with Gonzaga or Indiana. That Gonzaga game is December 5th so I'm not sure how that correlates with what games/series Purdue has in place.

I agree it is very cool that Purdue and Kentucky are playing an exhibition game. Should be great practice for the team.

My guess is that we get our first exhibition game at Mackey in 2026, when the team will need more confidence than experience in a hostile environment.
Maybe but it also serves us well to go and do these in hostile territories regardless of our overall team age etc.

I personally would like us to do a home and home with Gonzaga, St. John’s or Kentucky as well. Would be good for us

For Miles, I’ll be interested to see how well he rebounds in the Big Ten. Unless IU shoots as many 3s, I’m not confident he will be close to 7 rpgs a game as I assume a lot of those were long rebounds…but again we will see. Never watched him or the guy from Davidson.

However, if I just be a box score b**** and just looking at his game log, he fouled out a few times and had quite a few games with four fouls. He also only had 25 total blocks on the year. Wonder how his defense will transition to the B1G cuz IU will need him since he’s their only big.

YES, please guys.

Another thread that turns to a damn IU discussion. Just ignore the jackass and he will go away. If he doesn't he will just be having discussions with himself and it won't ruin every thread on here. Quit falling for the bait. His objective is to turn every thread into IU discussion, don't fall for it.

Correct - all just put on ignore and let him talk to himself
