Purdue to Play in Baha Mar Invitational

Looks like a great host resort/hotel. But I'm hoping maybe they will have some decent packages offered. Rooms are $600/night on their website.

Will be very interesting to see who the other 3 teams are.

I just looked and it's as low as 491. 440 if you prepay.
Correction, they add on a resort fee at check out, adding 70/night

These things are always crazy expensive to go to. I got the email already from Purdue:

Travel packages are land-only and include:

// 3-night hotel accommodations (Nov. 19–22)

// Game tickets to all sessions (Nov. 20–21)*

// Baha Mar Hoops Welcome Party, Happy Hour, and Pregame Party

// Round-trip airport transportation between the resort and NAS or MYNN

// Daily breakfast vouchers

// JPC staff on-site hosts

// Tournament souvenirs, fun surprises, and more!

Pricing starts at $3,625 per guest for double occupancy and $5,300 for single occupancy. Final cost will vary based on room configuration. Please note: pricing is the same for both adults and minors.

Oof. I'm not sure Final Four trip costs wouldn't be cheaper.

Yeah, that seems ridiculous to me. But maybe to others that's a bargain. I was hoping the packages would be more reasonable. But I'm glad they are going to a good tournament. Hopefully the field will be strong. It was last year.

Should be much closer to our time zone. Sad that the costs are so high that only thr ultra wealthy can afford to go.

Well, for those that have time, try to determine potential Baha Har teams by eliminating any P5 teams that have been announced that are playing in other Holiday tournaments during this timeframe. Certainly no other B1G teams.

NOTE: Rothstein sent out a tweet a few hours ago announcing the field for the 2025 Greenbrier Tip-Off as Butler, Northwestern, South Carolina, and Virginia. I've updated the information below to reflect this.

I found the MTE fields at the link above. I've listed the participating teams by conference at the bottom of this post.

Assuming the link is complete and correct, this leaves us the following non-Big10 options from power conferences:

ACC - Boston College, California, Florida State, Louisville, Pittsburgh, SMU, Wake Forest

Big 12 - Arizona, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Utah

Big East - UCONN, Villanova

SEC - Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas A&M

Didn't UCONN's coach say he wasn't ever going to play in an MTE again after they got embarrassed last season? If so, we can probably rule them out. About the only non-power conference program of interest that I could see is uncommitted after a quick scan is Memphis but I could easily be overlooking someone.

I think about the best we could hope for would be Louisville/Kentucky (they play a scheduled meeting out of conference so both wouldn't be in), Arizona, and Villanova? I find it hard to believe that Kentucky is not already in something though.

hopin for Wake

To add to that, out of your teams that are available, Arizona, Louisville and Oklahoma played in the Atlantis MTE last year with Indinia. Doubtful they would go back to the Bahamas 2 years in a row.
