I think the first half will be close but because of some streaky shooting by IU. That will cool off when their lost players start getting into early foul trouble.

Purdue will extend their lead in the second half and cruise to an easy senior night victory.

Biggie will play go off for a 20/20 on his last home game in Mackey.

If Biggie goes 30-30 tomorrow, McKeeman dunks (which he's capable of), Haas shoots 3 and PJ gives half court 3......And we win by 110+. Oh baby I cannot imagine how beautiful that will be. Let's just get prepared to storm the court because it's gonna happen anyway. Feel so sorry for Crean for playing @ Mackey after we lost @Crisler. Everyone may go off tomorrow. We'll see what's gonna happen.

Senior night is for seniors only. If Biggie wants a senior night, he can stay two more years...of which there is 0.01% chance of that happening. If Biggie plays well through the rest of the season and gets out of his slump, he'll garner Big Ten POY and AA...he'll come back and get his due rewards by having his jersey retired just like JJ, Hummel, Moore, Big Dog, etc.

Other programs have done this in the past for players that were planning to leave early for the NBA Draft or planning on being a graduate transfer. I think Michigan just did this with their redshirt-junior big Mark Donnal. He still has another season of eligibility left but he was included on their Senior Day, so he either doesn't want to play another season or he's planning to transfer from Michigan after this season/school year.

So, if Biggie has already made his intentions known to Painter behind closed doors, I wouldn't be surprised to see him as part of the ceremony on Tuesday night.

Nag, you are missing the point. Seniors have put in the hard work and dedication for 4 or 5 years (sometimes combined with other schools). Why devalue that with a player who has played 2 years? I love CS and all his hard work, but this is for seniors only. He will get recognition in other ways but not as a senior.

Beilein does it for graduating seniors that will be leaving the program, even if that is to grad transfer. Donnal will grad transfer somewhere else next season. Spike Albrecht got honored as a graduating senior last season. Beilein did not do it for any of his 6 early entry NBA kids, however.

As it should be. Beilein has always been my favorite non-Purdue coach in the Big Ten because he gets things like this.

No, I'm not. I know what you mean. I'm simply saying that if Swanigan has already made his decision to leave and stay as an early-entrant and informed people within the program about it (i.e. coaching staff), I wouldn't be surprised if he was allowed to be included in the festivities. I know that it's not tradition to do that (I've been watching for 27 years, so I'm aware of that) but he's had one of the best seasons a Purdue player has had since JaJuan Johnson, so it wouldn't shock me if there was an exception made for him. It wouldn't surprise me to see Purdue take a page from Michigan's book, in regards to Senior Day participants. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, just that it's a possibility.

Nage: I'm not going to lose my mind if they do something, but I really think it's unlikely. If there was ever a person this would have been done for it would have been Glenn.

As far as the Michigan comment, I don't think UM ever recognized guys that were leaving early for the NBA. They recognized guys that were graduating from UM and possibly Grad transferring to another school (Spike). They were guys that actually were getting a degree from UM before leaving.

I know. I wasn't spefically mentioning Michigan in regards to programs that have Senior Day ceremonies for players that leave early. I just noticed that Donnal was in it on Saturday because he's apparently already made it known to their program that he's going to be a graduate transfer after the school year. However, programs like Kentucky, Kansas, (I think Ohio State might have done this two seasons ago with D'Angelo Russell) and North Carolina often do this for underclassmen that have made their intentions to leave early and stay in the draft known to the coaching staffs and others surrounding their programs.

I hope you are right with Carsen starting again. I just like it better. Nothing against Master Cline.

I've loved watching Caleb Swanigan play for Purdue.....can't root hard enough for him to succeed in whatever he wants to do and have a productive professional career. However, Senior Day/Evening should be for those student-athletes graduating or on track for their degree that season. As others have stated, there can be ways to honor him if he's a consensus AA....or even if he gets his degree at a later date.

If other schools want to do something different.....fine.....that's their choice (and I can understand the logic in that), but then it's not really Senior Day anymore......it's "Departing/Farewell/Bon Voyage Day." That's not meant to be harsh....maybe it is....but hell, I guess I'm "getting" old.

Well, it looks like Matt is concern with players not following detail the last game...focus...the mental part. Vince says in another video that Matt tells them this team is one of the smartest he has coached and knows they can correct the mental mistakes. Can they be a great defensive team...nah, but they can be a good one!

I just noticed that Donnal was in it on Saturday because he's apparently already made it known to their program that he's going to be a graduate transfer after the school year.

Just to be clear, Beilein made it clear to Donnal that he was graduating and would be moving on. He tells kids when they commit they have a scholarship for 4 years but the 5th year depends on if the program needs them. He doesn't have a scholarship for Donnal next season.

I actually like Dakich, compared to Dickie V or Calhoun that would be terrible and ruin the game.
What I wouldn't give for one more go around with Bob Ford and Jim Barber like the ol Raycom days.

At worst Calhoun can easily be ignored. I have no problem understanding him and his accent/mumbling but it fades into the background if you choose not to pay attention. He is generally very complimentary towards Purdue and appears to have a lot of actual respect for our team and the way we play. Dakich and Dickie V on the other hand cannot be ignored because they are constantly overtalking and often very loudly. Dakich will struggle because it's difficult to pander to both fan bases when both IU and Purdue play each other. I get tired of hearing Dakich guarantee this or guarantee that for what's going to happen nor do I care what his wife or son think the keys to the game are.

I see. So, it's basically like what happened to Max Bielfeldt two years ago and Spike Albrecht last year.
