Purdue is relevant

2016-17 season Purdue has become relevant again. This didn't happen last year, good team but expectation level tempered. RJ and TJ days obviously not and not since #4 played. We are again relevant in college basketball. Beating a good ND team and getting off the snide in the Classics, relevant. Some bad losses sure, Nebraska comes to mind. Did they learn how to finish games? Maybe. Since a huge win on the road with team tied for B10 lead, Maryland. Relevant. Beating rival on the road not playing your best team, didn't happen last year. Relevant. Media and high profile announcers talking about your team(Bilas, Dakich etc). Didn't happen last year or since Robbie. Relevant. Possible Mr. Basketball in Illinois coming to your program next year. Relevant.
Caleb Swanigan decision to come to Purdue made our program relevant again. Carsen follows and now we are relevant. 3 top Frosh coming to program in 3 years. Relevant. Upperclassmen developing and maturing into quality basketball players helping making a team better. Relevant.

What happens who knows. Finish strong hopefully. B10 title great but what I would like to see? Cutting down nets in DC on Selection Sunday with a ton of exposure and kids 16 and 17 yr old watching. Relevant. Team in conference room watching our seed hoping no worse than a #4 seed and cameras on them. Relevant.

Different year different feel. How far we go? We will see.

Like your head coach or have a disdain for him, doesn't matter. Team is relevant again.
Purdue basketball is relevant again and certainly seems that will continue at least for awhile.

I always thought Purdue was relevant...just went through a few bad years4 to 5 years ago.

Biggie difference between last year and this year. Stud freshman that is afraid of seemingly nothing and a leader of men up front that seems to will this team to greatness which has rubbed off on everyone else. Last year there wasn't a true floor leader that could step up and make it happen when we got down. Different mindset this year.
