It matters in quality of first round opponent
If we can't win the first game then it really doesn't matter.
And teams are less likely to lose the first round game as a 4 than a 5. The 5/12 match-up is traditionally a nightmare for the 5.
I rarely agree with you, but in this case, you are right. IU got screwed. MSU only got a 2 seed, and we should have gotten a 4 seed. I don't have a problem with the 5 sseed game, but it is a slap in the face to the BIG.If Purdue can't beat round 1 then they are cowards. With their size they should run over that team. If they aren't mad about getting just spit on disrespected by ncaa selection then they are cowards. That draw for the entire big ten was a gigantic piss in the face of the conference.

It was a gigantic piss on the conference and Purdue got hosed in the title game today. They aught to come out angry on fire level after that. If I were on that team we'd not be losing in that bracket. No way no how. I'd be so angry I'd barely be able to sleep for a week in sheer anger.

Good. Because I believe we are a real 3 seed. That's because 5's are usually not as good as 4's. If we are a real 4, we don't need to worry about it.
in defense of the selection committee. think about how "good" IU is and consider that they won the conference by 2 games. doesn't speak well for the conference.
i know they had an easy schedule and the big boys beat each other up. IU won the conference..let that sink in
I think it speaks more to their schedule...
Math, I usually agree with you but IU didn't get screwed in any way. Granted they won all in Assembly, but their on the road record was abysmal and their pre-season (which is Crean's wish to pad the stats) just came back to haunt them. Very possible had IU been a 1 seed, they'd have been the first to lose in the first round as they're that bad on the road.I rarely agree with you, but in this case, you are right. IU got screwed. Indiana was 8-7 away from Assembly Hall, Purdue was 9-7 away from Mackey, not sure then the adjective you would use to describe Purdue. Indiana beat Illinois, Iowa and Michigan on the road, Purdue lost to all three during conference play. Purdue beat UW on the road , while Indiana lost to them in OT.Math, I usually agree with you but IU didn't get screwed in any way.
