Played to keep it close which they did for awhile, but I don't like the game plan today. If we're just going to run the ball because passing schemes are too difficult for Blough, then he shouldn't be out there or you need to run plays he can complete. Not calling for Appleby or a QB change, but come on, if we're afraid to let the kid play, then why even play the game at all? He's not going to develop by just handing the ball off.

It goes back to my comment earlier in the week about a quote from Hazell. Their goal is to simply make it to the 4th quarter with a hope of being close. To me, that screams playing not to lose and then having a tight asshole if the game is close (Marshall, BGSU, and MSU).

You never see that kind of attitude from winners.

Why aren't you calling for appleby? He threw for more yards and 1 more td against a better Wisconsin team last year than blough faced today ..

Were people who like blough listening to the analyst ripping him to pieces?

Appleby wasn't the problem and I'll stand by the idea that we don't know how good either can be with good coaching

This is a broken record but I'll say it again: First Etling, then Appleby, and now Blough - everyone of these guys looked good their first game and progressively got worse with every game. It can't be a coincidence. These guys all seemed to lose their confidence with each game which is just the opposite of what you'd expect. If you're going to make one of these guys your starting QB, let them play. Blough is no pocket passing QB yet that is exactly what they had him doing in 2H of the game. Run some play action and get him out of the pocket. Let him play. If he makes a mistake so what, we're losing anyway. Good grief there is no victory in keeping it close. Try to win! It is frustrating.

But that is EXACTLY what Shoop does, he makes QB's try to what they aren't suited to do. His record is very clear on this point. Fire his ass NOW!

Firing Shoop John B is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
Yeah I think this is right. The answer to the question of 'what's wrong' is -- EVERYTHING. I thought the defensive line looked better than anything else we had -- Panfil had a good game -- but there really isn't a strength to this team that you could say we can build on. We're two and a half years into the rebuild and we're nowhere.
