JaJuan Johnson chose Purdue because of Cuonzo Martin.

Not sure who recruited our 2019 team. Jack Owens?

An assistant that can recruit such talent consistently

is what Painter desperately needs.

Otherwise, a new coach is needed to win big in the Big Dance.

Painter has a comfort zone. Defense first. He will recruit to that system. Other teams don't have the luxury of developing players. They need to play right now. The transfer portal allows for that to happen. So we see a lot of mid majors winning in the tournament.
