Purdue Basketball Fans Facebook site -- what is this?

I am curious if anyone has come across a Purdue Basketball Fan forum within Facebook? I am the first to understand that nothing on Facebook is real, but their articles would make Babylon Bee jealous of their off-the-wall writings. Now, in all fairness, not all the articles have dates or dates with years so perhaps these are really old articles, then I would question Facebook algorithm.

I just think this is clickbait with stupid and false articles, am I wrong?

About the only thing useful from Facebook is..... well.. very little. I snag pics from it from time to time from the official Purdue basketball group, but outside of that.. it's hot garbage.

There are a lot of false stories on Facebook lately! There are many more than what you listed above. Many more! Did I say many? One of the ones today has tkr transferring to IU.

However, the false stories about Purdue and Purdue players pales in comparison to the many. Other false stories that now exist on Facebook The Facebook CEO bowed down to the political pressure and basically allows anyone and anybody to post their lies without retraction, moderation or consequences. Unless you say something against a certain someone and that person gets upset.

If you have intelligence you can see through the lies and the click bait. Unfortunately the majority of of people who read the click bait believe the lies they are fed. And unfortunately those who are doing the lying. Know how stupid and gullible the Facebook readers are. They have been lying for the past 10 years. And they have told the lies so often and loud, they now believe their own lies.

Eventually some of the Facebook readers may realize they’ve been lied to. My hope is that it will not be too late. Too much damage has already been done and too much credibility has been lost.

There are still a few intelligent posters on Facebook. Look for the ones who don’t reply to the click bait. Look for the ones who have their own opinions rather than the bandwagon fans. Look for the ones who dare to disagree. You may be surprised and shocked to find who the respected posters are. You might find a familiar name or two!

That is facebook in a nutshell. It's designed for the simplest of minds to clickbait you in to reading crap. The ads and other things you see are tailored to what you view as you scroll by... even spending just a second on an article is enough for the algorithm to target ads and things specifically for you.

As a retired cyber security person, I can tell you that the way it works is both impressive .. and terrifying.. your data/profile/etc up there is NOT secure so as a suggestion, keep what you post limited. Personal photos can and have been used from facebook to generate fake IDs for identity theft.

I think people should be able to post what they like, true or false. It is up to me to decide to listen/read them.

I just think it's odd to put out sports stories that are just false. I realize it's for clicks so the more outrageous the better. But, that is a short-term view as now that we know it's all crap, it gets ignored. Just an odd approach.
