Started watching halfway through the 2nd quarter:

McCarthy, Layden, Collier, Jones and Lombard are the starters again. Lombard, Layden and Puryear leading in scoring with 10-5-and 4 respectively. Poole looked good in moments, Amiyah looks completely lost on defense.

Layden works harder than all the seniors combined. She moves, she watches the offense and puts herself in position for a pass out if someone gets into trouble. She goes to the glass hard and her defense is very high energy and active. She is a smart player, cutting off drives without getting caught reaching or not having her feet set.

47 Washington 25 Purdue at the half.

Amiyah just shot a driving layup off the side of the backboard, from 3 feet away..... She brings the ball up, passes it off and then goes and stands on the weekside of the offense and becomes a spectator......

Final 87-58 Washington.

17 points for Lombard, 15 points for Collier, 8 for Layden, 7 for Puryear and Poole.

Poole needs to start and play as much as she can handle. You could see her getting better the longer she was in.

Layden led the team with 7 rebounds, Puryear was 2nd with 3.

Swanson held out for illness.

McCarthy only played a little for whatever reason.

Is there anyone at Purdue that cares?

Obviously Bobinski doesn't, he first offered failed college coach White then offered NAIA Gearlds, he did not even look for a competent coach last time, so why would he admit he screwed the pooch and fire his hire for a 2 million buyout? I think Walters being fired is a lot of what saves CKG this season, hard to eat two buyouts the same season. I fully expect CKG to be back next year, and I also expct a lot of players to transfer out once this cluster duck of a season is over.

Thanks for the recap - I was unable to watch or follow today. Was hoping for a closer score than this. Geez, I feel badly for the players who are trying & giving effort (Layden, Jones, etc). Sounds like they are not being put in situations to succeed.
Skills development should be better this deep into the season. Something is just very out of whack. Baffling, disappointing, and the players have got to be discouraged. This is tough on everyone

Reynolds looks terrible, I mean, she’s a redshirt Frosh, maybe she’ll get better, not sure how much though. Play the youngsters, likely a 2-4 win Big Ten team.
