Purdue at Illinois: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

Seeing Browne shine, makes the case that the staff made the wrong choice sticking with Card……..what other bad personal choices are they making?
A lot of indications that the kid behind him is actually our future. Now that teams have tape on Browne, we’ll see how he looks if he in-fact continues to play…

How many people would be good with Simmons as interim ? I would
Probably not but there was a pulse there today. First time this year vs a FBS team we didn’t roll over and give up. Sad that that’s the bar nowadays.

Walters and the D gave this team less than nothing today and squandered a win. At least the O coach helped make it obvious where the fault lies!

In the presser Walters said he called the offense.

On the bright side - no "official" turnovers (the teams traded possessions with losing kickoffs) and only 38 penalty yards - that's at least improvement in those areas. Browne's 100+ yds rushing is first for Purdue QB since Rob Henry in 2010.

Walters wouldn't commit to Browne starting going forward if Card is healthy in the post game presser. I feel like he earned the job the rest of the season without a doubt. Card won't be here next year anyway so what good does it do to start him? Build for the future at this point.
