A look at the true Purdue: 6-3 record with 13 games left and 7 road games. Batting .500 over the last 6 games, hardly impressive. Assuming that continues which it is almost sure to, that should translate into a final regular season record of 20 wins - 10 losses. In big ten tourney play I project Purdue to be a probable 6 seed. As a 6 seed I have them going 1-1 with a second round elimination in Big Ten tourney. Final pre-NCAA record of 21-11 entering the NCAA tourney at about a 7 or 8 seed. Though that is almost too generous because when you look at the schedule the final 10 games are 6 road games. @ Michigan, @ IU, Maryland at home, MSU, @ Maryland, and @ Iowa. It is very possible this team losses 6 of the last 10 games and could possibly even lose @ Minn or dropping one to Nebraska on the road depending on the team's state of mind at that point. I can't see Purdue getting anything higher than a 10 seed if they end the final 10 games losing 7 or 8 of them.

Projected wins = PSU, Rutgers, Nebraska, Northwestern.
Projected losses = Iowa, Maryland, MSU, Maryland, IU,
Probable losses = @Michigan
Possible losses (could go either way) = OSU, @Minn, @Nebraska

Real record against at least average peer level competition: 6-3 ...3-3 out of last 6. We are a .500 team lately against average completion. We haven't even played a real team. But going 3-3 to the Iowa's, Illinois, and Butler crowd shows us where this team is. Barely hanging on with an offense just barely better than the football team.
Florida (8-5 team) WIN
Pittsburgh (ACC) WIN
New Mexico ( I really had to stretch to consider this team real competition ) WIN
Butler - LOST in humiliating fashion in front of the whole state
Vanderbilt - WIN
Wisco - WIN
IOWA - LOST in true Purdue character form
MIchigan - WIN
Illinois - LOST unbelievably

Teams that are just padding the schedule up in the win column that don't deserve any consideration whatsoever.
NC AT&T - Losing team
Vermont - I mean come on here ...yah Purdue will show up then and get big headed against the small fry guy.
Incarnate Word- come on now
Old Dominion - come on now
Lehigh - lets get real now...teams like Kentucky aren't scared of Purdue because they beat Lehigh
IUPUI - I won't even entertain this as competition
Howard the duck - oh please
Youngstown State - come on now

Why is it that every year (and I mean year in and year out) under Painter does every team we play that is worth a damn shoot the 3 against Purdue like it is free for all? It shows that we have serious coaching issues in my mind when it comes to making a team better than just slightly above average. Considering Purdue knew what to expect having seen this team before and still allowed them to do that with no answers. Just mind boggling. Now Purdue is almost extinct from the rankings after this loss getting mop swept by Iowa. Iowa is a team that in my mind even if they were given a 1 or a 2 seed couldn't get to the final four if they were playing a team like North Carolina even if North Carolina had their best players one hand tied behind their backs. And enough already about our size. We get it we are big and fat and turn the ball over 20 times a game and lack the ability to show focus and determination. If anything being big in college basketball is a weakness easily exploitable by an in shape team because when you have a team lethargic enough where skinny pie faced pale and frail Iowa can dunk to the face styled and shoot step up and in the face style it isn't much of an asset. We have two 7 ft centers and even with Swan we can't seem to become a team worthy of a top 25 ranking.

Iowa launched 3 point shots against Purdue the entire game. It was embarrassing. Does anyone on that team other than Swan have any intensity? Show some heart already. Show some pride. That was an embarrassing showing today and I don't care what all these cheesy worthless and pathetic sports writers have to say that poopoo that kind of crap out there. That was a losing effort with intention. Further evidence of a team digressing all year long. We digress at the behest of teams in the big ten that continue to get better each week. All of Purdue's weaknesses are unaddressed from our continual shooting woes and offensive struggles to embarrassing breakdowns on defense. With turnovers of all things just destroying any chances of winning against a decent team the rest of the year.

The worst part about watching a loss like today with Iowa is looking at this schedule. With Purdue going to Illinois and losing to their backups it wouldn't surprise me at all to see a loss coming at Minnesota. Not saying that will happen, but can you imagine how over this season is if it does? Then it is at Maryland, at IU, at Michigan, then at home against Maryland. That is 4 strongly likely losses with a highly uncertain game against Minnesota on the road. Then you look at MSU coming to Purdue, a game that Purdue will lose if they play anywhere near the way they did against either Iowa attempt. I mean where is the aggression? We might lose 6 or 7 of our last 9 games playing the way they did tonight. Really who have we beaten? Is this team ever going to step up and beat a real team?

All I can say is thank God we have Swan out there. He is my favorite player right now because he doesn't display a losing attitude at all while others out there ninny around. He makes a mistake he'll give it 100 percent on the next play. He isn't going to completely fall apart like a lot of others do continually out there. Edwards getting better. Other than that I am just watching digression.
