Purdue +16.5

I think Purdue can cover, but I can understand why the line is that big. The recent history between these two teams suggests 16.5 is actually pretty generous to Purdue. Here's hoping this week changes that.

Wisconsin rarely turns the ball over and they make few mistakes. They are a sound football team. I think Purdue can hang in there with long offensive possessions while capitalizing, because wisky is going to score points. If we take care of the football and win the turnover battle (BIG IF) we'll cover.

Recent history has Purdue at 4-1 against the spread. This team is nothing like last year's and the coaching staff is far superior. My guess is that it is only that high to lure people into making the bet. Nobody would bet on this game if the line wasn't that inticing. Yes, Purdue absolutely should cover. Will they? Well, that's why they play the games! I am super stoked for Saturday and I love that college football is fun again. Not to mention the NFL is a dumpster fire, so the timing couldn't have been better. And, one month til basketball starts. Best time of the year!

Key to keeping this game close is our offense keeping our defense off the field as much as possible in the first half. If the offense goes 3-and-out a bunch in the first quarter.. game over. But.. orchestrate some long, clock-eating drives, force a couple 3-and-outs, keep it close, have fresh defense in the 2nd half.. and anything can happen.

I see this game being similar to the Mich. game. We'll keep it close for a half but Wisky will have a big 2nd half.

This game is less winnable for us than UM. Not sure why people would assume we'd be more likely to keep it close especially being away.

I agree Wisconsin is better than Michigan. But we are getting better each week. After the Michigan game our coaching staff should have more ideas how to get things going against these top defenses.

We don't have the depth to deal with them. We need some mistakes out of them. However I'm not that concerned with it in Brohm year 1. If we lose it doesn't matter in the long run. The rest of the games are very winnable.

It's a long shot, but there is a path to keeping it close. If the offense has a little more success than against UM (hard NOT to improve upon 0-12 on 3rd down), and the defense only has to play 30-35 minutes, then there may be enough depth for the defense to hang in there for 4 quarters. The mild weather should help. Having Bentley and Thieneman the whole game should help. Fingers crossed for McCollum..

Wisconsin unfortunately has a solid history of beating down Purdue. Couldn't pay me to bet this one.
I agree. I'm 2-1 betting Purdue this year and would be playing with house money but history tells me that Camp Randal is unkind to Purdue teams and Wisky hasn't been shy about running up the score with given the chance.
Would love to know what PU is ATS vs Wisky during the current 11 year winning streak.
If this game were about 23.5, I'd be intrigued. But a couple touchdowns and a field goal.....not sure.
Of course, I hope this is all for naught and we win outright.

Badgers are bad ass at running the football down our throats. Play hard and don’t quit and I’ll be content. We’re not near Wisky’s level. Yet!

Sounds like no McCollum. That's a big loss.
On the bright side, at least he won't get another injury.

Be great to have McCollum , but Barnes has good size and should have decent speed, seeing how he was a running back in high school, just wish he had more experience, injuries are such a big factor in football.

I didn't put anything on this game, which I'm glad because I probably would have taken Wisc giving 16.5 but I don't like cheering against my team.

If the Rutgers line is between 6-10, that should be easy $.
