I know I should go for Iowa and want them to win because if we lose tomorrow, a PSU loss would be horrible for us while an Iowa loss wouldn't matter, but I really like the underdogs and PSU has battled back well. We only beat them by the skin of our teeth as well, but 3 games in 3 days might work out for us, I don't know... Plus... well OMHR.

Been a good game to what seemed like Iowa would blow them out, and still could.

PSU would have to be getting tired if they had to play again tomorrow.

Ya, that's my biggest reservation about the double bye.

Say Penn State does go on to win this game. Now they're completely in a groove, and we come into tomorrow's game cold having not played in 6 days.

Playing 4 or 5 days in a row argument might become a factor in later in the tournament, but it also gives the teams that win in the early rounds a running start in facing the top seeds.

Bill: I'm not sure if that really kicks in on the 3rd day. Maybe Saturday or Sunday, but lots of holiday tournaments go three days. PSU would bring a lot of momentum into Friday's game (if they win today).

Yeah but most of the tournaments are coming off rest and built in with vacation time and such, and most importantly not at the end of a grueling season. Don't forget PSU just played sunday as well. So if they play tomorrow it will be their 4th game in 6 days... no matter what who you are, that can't be easy.

Also, 5th game in 10 days.

This game is the quintessential Iowa "can't trust em" game. Seemingly have control.....pounding the boards.....then, suddenly, empty possessions and a several-minute stretch where they lose control of the game. Same thing with MSU @ home this year and a few last year.

No disrespect to Penn State intended; thought they would give them a little fight....but didn't expect them to win.

Tough day for OMHR....will not help with NCAA seeding.

Interesting to see them struggle against PSU, they are the more talented team but went to overtime with them during the season. I know we're a much different team than when we played them last time, but hopefully just barely eeking out that win, and seeing what they just did to Iowa will keep us fresh and focus on PSU.

in watching the game it seems like Iowa just "choked" more than PSU beat them. And what I mean by that they just seemed to lose focus and play crappy basketball. Like they expected to walk all over PSU and when it seemed like they were going to when up 10, Iowa didn't know what to do when PSU wouldn't give up.

Something we've seen out of the Boilers a time or two.

Choked... can't argue, but Newbill started going off and they hit some key threes, plus the drive at the end for the and one from Jackson or whatever that guys name is was a pretty solid nail in the coffin.

Just gonna say it. Iowa stunk today. No doubt. uninspired and playing like "Oh we are already in the tourney" hope it does not carry over. Good Luck to you against PSU they are playing hard and really want it. Newbill does not want his senior year to end so I feel he is going to get his tomorrow. That Double bye paid off for you guys. Don't sleep on PSU, we did and it cost us.

Besides PSU gaining confidence, what concerns me tomorrow about Purdue has been our recent lapses in the last 3 games. We show signs of playing well and signs of "What the heck??" at times too. Would love for us to come out strong and stay focused for the full 40 minutes. No lapses.
