In all the excitement about the Dem's indicting Joe's likely opponent in 2024, the police state quietly released the Shaman from prison. Could it be someone high up in the PS was embarrassed by the blatant suppression of evidence in his trial, as revealed in the video shown on Carlson, and didn't want the Shaman to become a cause celebre heading into an election?

Anyone have another theory?

I expect you, as a self-described "no-bullshit, no talking points, evidence based conservative", to applaud this release and condemn the suppression of evidence that put Chansley in prison to begin with. Or by "evidence based" do you mean only the evidence that supports your view? @hoosierfan13

This thread would be far more accurately titled:

"After 27 months federal incarceration, felon moved to halfway house per Bureau of Prisons schedule"

Since you no doubt agree with me that those who join groups like the Proud Boys are not very bright, I am sure you will also agree they could be easily entrapped by the police state.

  1. You constantly call it "the police state." I call it law enforcement.
  2. It would be a complete dereliction of duty for law enforcement to not have informants in domestic terrorism groups.
  3. Agreed; the members of the Proud Boys are dangerous, and are idiots. Very glad to see you state this! Progress for you.
  4. Even idiots deserve and get competent counsel to challenge potential government misconduct, which absolutely happens at times. That's why there are courts; to insure that defense attorney claims are properly vetted and decided on. The government gets held accountable. However, just because a defense attorney makes a claim does not make it so.

Hey -- you want some real, live law enforcement atrocity? Try the recording of this Sheriff and County Commissioners in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. Certified law enforcement that does not report this recorded conversation, and the Sheriff adds his own threats:

Sheriff Kevin Clardy, his investigator Alicia Manning, Commissioners Mark Jennings and Robert Beck, commissioners’ secretary Heather Carter and jail administrator Larry Hendrix were speaking with each other after the March 6 meeting of the county Board of Commissioners. The discussion then devolves into a conversation around Jenning’s desire for a return of the days of lynching.

Jennings said the nearly 20 people running for sheriff “don’t have a god— clue what they’re getting into.”
“I’m gonna tell you something,” Jennings said. “If it was back in the day, when … Alan Marshton would take a damn Black guy and whoop their ass and throw him in the cell? I’d run for f—ing sheriff.”

Clardy tells Jennings “it’s not like that no more.” “I know,” Jennings responds. “Take them down to Mud Creek and hang them up with a damn rope. But you can’t do that anymore. They got more rights than we got.”

Next, they begin discussing hiring hit men, and they specifically mention journalists Chris Willingham, the Gazette-News reporter who broke the story around the comments and is currently in litigation with Manning for defamation and civil rights violations, and Bruce Willingham. Manning said the reporters “are insignificant in my life,” while Clardy promises her that “what goes around goes around. “ “I know where two big deep holes are here if you ever need them,” Jennings added. Clardy said he has an excavator, to which Jennings replies the holes are “already dug.”

Jennings then adds he has known “two or three hit men” who are “very quiet guys” and who “would cut no f—ing mercy.” They then posit who would be blamed for the hit, if it were ever found out. “Yeah, but here’s the reality,” said Manning. “If a hair on his wife’s head, Chris Willingham’s head, or any of those people that really were behind that, if any hair on their head got touched by anybody, who would be the bad guy?”

"Your" confused again. The police state in my view is that small group of DOJ/FBI establishment people who have demonstrated their corruption. They have police powers and are part of the gov. What do you suggest calling them?

I have never said anything positive about the Proud Boys, like I have never said anything positive about the pride of the old dem party, the KKK. You just made that implication up.

If this was intended for me, my answer is that I don't want it because, given that you posted it, I think there is a high probability it is irrelevant to the discussion and so not worth my time.

"Waaaaah!!"

"You posted the actual recorded evidence of law enforcement corruption so I don't wanna hear that"

"WAAAAAH"

Damn Trump Administration. Clearly in your opinion Trump sliding toward being the worst President in over 100 years. @Riveting- stating that Trump's Departments were running amok!

ps: It's "you're."

There's a definition to the term "police state" and what you posted ain't i.t
There is not "a" definition, but many. I think this one from Merriam-Webster is good:

a political unit characterized by repressive governmental control of political, economic, and social life usually by an arbitrary exercise of power by police and especially secret police in place of regular operation of administrative and judicial organs of the government according to publicly known legal procedures

Damn Trump Administration. Just another reason in which I see you are coming around on Trump being the worst President in over 100 years. Trump's Departments running amok!

ps: It's "you're."
Point out what Trump did that was more deadly and damaging to this nation and innocent people in another nation than LBJ's stupid Vietnam war.

There is nothing, but you can't admit it.

  • @Riveting- on DOJ: characterization of the misconduct: "small group of DOJ/FBI establishment people."
  • also @Riveting- -- definition of police state: "repressive governmental control of political, economic, and social life."

While it's not a "gauge which horrible thing is worse" contest, this ranks incredibly high:

Additionally, Donald Trump advocates for a complete breakdown of American democratic principles and any hope of coming together as a nation. THAT's really bad. The evidence is overwhelming. Here is one of his latest; his Easter message for crying out loud:

Now you are including comments of his you don't like made when he was no longer president as part of your absurd attempt to claim he was a worse president than LBJ?

Make yourself clear. Assuming the worst you can assume about Trump as president, whether proven or not, do you really believe he was a worse president than LBJ and the 55,000 US and 800,000 Asian deaths, and untold suffering caused by his stupid Vietnam war?

A legit investigation of Jan 6 has not been conducted yet, but from court testimony it is known that elements of the police state were involved.
And I repeat, THIS is why you are firmly believed to be a Proud Boy or Proud Boy sympathizer/wannabe.

You are a one trick pony about government conspiracies. Over and over.

But does THIS bother you?

Are you a Vietnam vet?

The DOJ is a political unit? okaaaaay then.

And you wonder why most on here are convinced you are either a Proud Boy or Proud Boy wannabe.
No, of course not. The part of the DOJ that attempted and is still attempting to destroy Trump is obviously motivated by politics, and thus is a political unit.

Of course it bothers me.

Do 55,000 US and 800,000 Asian deaths from a stupid US war bother you?

Apparently they do not from your comments. It is all just a statistic to you, right Joe?

I do not think that. Not at all.

Are you a Vietnam vet?
I will answer that if you answer my prior question first. Do all the horrible things that you think Trump did make him a worse president than LBJ and his stupid, tragic Vietnam war?

Now you have extended from speaking for a black man on this forum to thinking you speak for most of the forum.

One is direct, visceral, and not only resulted in unfathomable loss of life, but also in emotional scarring for generations.

The other resulted in a world-wide loss of faith in America as the world's beacon of hope and democracy.

Both are very bad.

I'm not insulting you and I answered your question.

You did not answer my question, which was do you think Trump was a worse president than LBJ?

You have said you do, but I don't believe you really think that despite what the US News 'scholars' might think. Your first sentence above completely belies that.

It is not honest to say you answered honestly when you didn't answer the question.

Re your second point above, "The other resulted in a world-wide loss of faith in America as the world's beacon of hope and democracy".

That is your opinion, but why are so many people flooding into our nation illegally if they have no hope in America?

Because people in other countries have worse situations and are desperate.

The presidents of Mexico and El Salvador both said words to the effect, "Don't lecture us anymore on democracy" when commenting on the indictment of the leading challenger to the current US president.

So you’re not a fan of the Manhattan DA’s decision. I get that. An indictment of a former President on technical criminal violations is questionable.

Are you a Vietnam vet?
