Priller - deliberate foul

Come on. It was a hard, but clean foul. Biggie awkwardly stumbled as he gathered himself to go up with the ball, and Priller looked to me like he expected to challenge a layup. Instead, Biggie lost his balance and awkwardly jumped sideways just enough to get knocked on his ass by the big, goofy dude falling down on him.

Did anyone else feel uncomfortable when Dackich started singing Thriller?

I chuckled at first....then I felt strange about that.....don't know why.

You know someone's going to play that for him at a birthday/anniversary party...or ESPN guys might roast him for it. Hard to live that down, but kudos to him for being willing to do something he might get ridiculed for. I would have liked to have seen Shulman's expression during it.

I was thinking as I watched the game that DD was in extra-Dakich mode last night, almost radio Dakich. There was very little play-by-play and way more color commentary and conversation between the two announcers. The other Dan just let Dakich do his thing. Can't say I minded much as DD knows his state of Indiana hoops, and because PU led the whole game I found his musings entertaining.

DD was also dead on about Indiana playing with pace when they could and that Bryant should work inside....that's when they made their runs in the first half. Boilers stayed disciplined most of the game, but when they had some lapses, DD seemed all over it, IMO. A little bit of nerves, too, which is understandable....Dakota Mathias and Vincent Edwards seemed the least affected by it.....again....JMHO.

I addressed in another post how Bryant and Wagner shooting outside is actually a good thing for us.

Priller deserved a push or a walk by elbow. However, his must dangerous foul was when he fell into Vince, as that while accidental could have caused severe damage.

Indiana for the most part was pushing and playing very physical. I was very proud of Haas who was rightly so pushing back. And they called him for 3, what are you kidding me???, fouls.

I cringed with the VE foul and didn't post about it in the Game Thread just from superstition. Totally accidental play, but sometimes, that's how those severe injuries end up....glad neither player was hurt.

On IH, I thought one of those was legit...could even understand a second.....yeah, Black & Gold glasses I guess, but it seemed to me like the official was being overly assertive into the game. After one, go to the player(s) and the coach(es) to try and get any point across....don't be whistle happy because you like the sound of your own tweet. And that would go for if it were an opposing player as well. OTOH, I've seen much worse officiated games for/against the Boilers.

I did like that they were active with keeping Crean "relatively" within the coaching box.

That was real close to a season ender, as for the Priller song, I thought it was good, it had to be a spur of the moment thing.

I thought that Priller should have been called for a deliberate foul - he was not going after the ball, he was going after Biggie.
Question for all of you.....how much better would Priller be under three years of Painter? Comes in sets screens, rebounds, gets a put-back, scores points, active on the court.....Just how good would he have been in Black and Gold.

Exactly. I brought this up in game thread when it happened..........I think everyone held their collective breath on that play. Those are the career enders.

every one of the IU players would benefit from some structure

Dan is entertaining at times I will admit, but I would take Bob Ford with the color commentary any day!

I don't think he was thinking "I'm going out there to hurt someone" but he was giving it all he had and if someone got injured in the process so be it.
